I have the output of a 6 inch inline fan running over the socket and 6 inch ducting connected to the hole at the other end of my hood, venting the warm air outside of the grow area. Since it is only a 3 foot run, you shouldn't have to get a second fan. So, looking at the picture you posted earlier, put the fan on the right hand side, and put the ducting on the left hand side. A/C folk will tell you to get a 6 inch clamp to secure it, but duct tape works just as well. BTW- the ducting can be purchased at a local hardware store for pretty cheap, just tell them you have to replace a high temperature dryer duct and they should be able to set you up. Hope that helps.
