Cool mist humidifiers

Has anyone used a cool mist humidifier before to try and drop temps a few degrees? I'm thinking in a confined space one of these may help?

I can't get my RH over 22% in my small closet tent. I'm in the desert where it's super low humidity all the time so was thinking a humidifier will help with that and the cool mist option could drop me down a few degrees.

Any input/experiences would be great.

36x20x63 inch tent. 6 inch 460cfm at half speed or less. Using active 4inch 100cfm inline fan to help out with neg pressure. Also 4 inch clip fan inside tent.

I know/think part of the issue is the amount of air I'm moving and how quickly.

200 watts of t5 lighting.

My guess is that you may be moving the air too quick even if you had a humidifier in the tent. Is your exhaust constant on or is it on a thermostat to kick on/off?

Constant on to pull heat. No thermostat so I would have to cycle it myself. Maybe I'll look at cycling it to see if I can hold any humidity while lights are off. Thanks for the feedback Hydro!

Do your T5's get that warm to need to run the fans constant on? I suppose if you are on a budget and just want to cycle the fans, you could put em on a timer. They sell for about $8-$10 and are programmable down to every 15 minutes. I would highly recommend a thermostat controlled outlet, then plug your exhaust fan into it. It will make life and environment much better (probably save you some $ on your electric bill too since it will only run when it needs to). Let me see if I can dig up a link for you.

Temps can get into high 80s if I don't have tent closed up and sucking air out. I can maintain high 70s with exhaust at half speed. I'll see what I can do with just active intake and little to no exhaust and see what happens. Might be onto something and then control it automatically with a controller like you linked.

Thanks again.

We get temps over 110 outside during summer so it raises the house temps quickly and it's not cheap.

I also plan l go cob led at some point and feed silica and just live with the mid to low 80s.

Its believe its going to get hot in there like that.
I hear ya on the whole higher temps thing. For my grow situation, I dont like to do it in the summer just because the in room portable a/c run to control my room temps almost triples the amount it cost me per month without it vs running fall/winter/early spring. I pull from outside, so cooler months are my time to take advantage of the elements provided & keep my room cool basically for free. I also pull from outside and vent to outside as well. I dont know how your tent is set up or what room its in but I think I have a very basic grasp on your room. In my humble opinion I think you may be better off just leaving the intake passive pulling in the already air conditioned room air from the exhaust plugged into the thermostat to come on only when it hits the max set temp. If you had a way to vent it outside would be perfect but I understand not always achievable.

Ya man I'm actually exhausting directly into my attic and out an eve at the top of my roof. I don't think I achieve any lower temps with active vs passive but I did like the extra air the active was pushing into the tent.

Summer's out here are brutal and I agree sometimes just not worth it because I'm not even going to think about a portable unit. Now if I worked from home full time I would def run portable during summer just to keep the same room cooler than the rest of the house while I work.

Appreciate the input brother.
