contant 12 12 lighting?

ok so i read if u dont have the lights on for too long everyday like 12 12 wen the plants reach maturity they wil flower by themselves does this mean i can get a light timer and watering timer thing and just never have to do anything to them? if this idea works does anyone kno how long they take to flower on there own?

you can do it with the lights.. but i wouldnt time the water beacuse you could easily end up overwatering them!

on their own youre gonna take a good 3 months at least to flower... if you put them on 12/12 from seed
