Hey all,
I have been growing in an aero-jet two tray for a few years and have been looking to change things up a bit and am looking for good advice.
I just created a small clone room under the stairs and put the aero-jet in there to start my clones in the 3.75 cup sizes.
My main room now has two 600w digitals on a combo Rail 3.5 linier light mover. My goal is to grow 5-7 large plants yielding 5-8 ounces each every 12 weeks.
The problem I always had with the aero-jet is that there wasn't enough room to get the plants big as they are right on top of each other and I lost alot of potential yield. I don't want to grow allot of small plants as I am trying to stay under 20 plants. So If I grow 5-7 larger plants and clone 12 I accomplish this.
I am using the water farm system now but would rather have an aero set-up that I can take the clones out fully rooted and going strong and just place them in the next set-up.
Ok.... my question is that out of all of the self made set-ups and the ones for sale they all are like the aero-jet in that there are many cups close together. I haven't even found anyone else who has built a system with distances of like 12-24" between the cups or any depth of more than 6-8" for the root zone. Is there any reason why?
I would like to get some pvc pipe sched-40 with an ID like 10" and have the tube 10'. long with cup holes every 1.5-2'. I feel this would give me the distance I need between the plants to get the thick dense growth and the depth to let the root zone hang more than I get with the aerojet.
The dimensions on the pvc are just an initial thought. I have been searching for a more applicable container with little luck so far. It seems like if you were to use like a five gallon bucket and those roots were able to just hang there over that 12"+ distance and get the aero mist it would encourage larger growth.
So..... I have thrown out my gibberish. Any ideas?
Thx
