So I was watching cbc news this morning....by the way it's I International War on Drugs Day ( or something like that). Blah blah blah.....world drug policy is changing and in fact the Harptler government is considering moving to a ticketing system. WTF? I just about shit when I heard that. who said the cons. would change their position before, the next election? Fuck I can't stand the conservatives!

They see the writing on the wall, as far as MJ is concerned. Its reached a point of critical mass...nothing Harper can really do to stop the ball rolling. The Cons will be dragged into this, kicking or screaming...as we all know what they'd like to do with MJ.

Giving leo the arbitrary authority to ticket or charge is not progress.
They are on a mission to wrestle authority away from judges and the courts.
They are looking at tickets because they know going to court on small amounts is costly and most times doesn't result in a conviction.
This "good news" is really a power grab bad news scenario.
Legalization or bust...

This is the first step in the long road toward legalization, unfortunately. These Cons wont come out and legalize, "on their watch", as Harper has stated many times. I would bet the farm that they'll hold true to this while they remain in power.

But the walls of prohibition are crumbling down around them and they're scrambling to adjust/keep control over things.

I'm seeing a conservative MP today at a function. I'll ask what the party line is these days and where it's going.

Old news really.

They work way to slow to be able to get something like this out before next election lol

It'll never happen with these idiot conservative. :)

They cannot control it!!! That is becoming extremely obvious.

The money is gonna fly from BUSTS and GROWS, Legal and Not. That's the idea.
Keep it moving...keep it flowing...and who cares what happens to a select few in the process.

Oh I far from think it is good news....it is the worst thing that could possibly happen. They will spin this to their benefit and I swear I may go postal if they get into majority power again.

Yeah this is old news. It's also a bullshit move as this isn't decriminalization or anything like that. They want to give LEO the option of a ticketing offense, which basically means they can choose to give you a ticket or arrest you still. A ticket isn't any better as it is still considered a criminal activity and will be shown on your record. Sure you MAY not go to jail, but you're still a criminal in their eyes.

This changes NOTHING. Simply projecting the appearance of changing your mind does not mean it has in fact been changed. They just want votes and nothing to do with us after that. Period.

ticketing would mean that the 4 out of 5 people caught with a joint now who would have their pot confiscated and let go with a warning would now instead get issued a ticket. 1 out of 5 would still get a record. win win for cons because this way they earn more money. The ticketing scheme is only an option for police to use IF they want to. If they still wanna sent potheads to court for a joint theyll still do it.
