I am speaking for myself here, although others may harbor this view:
Jared was not part of the tea party.
I am not trying to connect him to the tea party.
What I am trying to connect is gun violence to firearm rhetoric.
This event has painfully brought to light the reality behind gun violence and anti-government (which is blatant that he was anti-government) sentiment.
I think that engaging, especially on a political level, in anti-government and firearm metaphors can lead people into making an environment that is unhealthy for the US on every level.
Everyone should be recognizing this fact, both in their own actions as well as the actions of others.
This needs to be dealt with and end here.

But it does not detract from the fact that this guy had a personal grievance against Giffords.
Refute that.
Then prove how it links him to the Teabaggers.
