Thank you for a non-insult oriented post. I agree that we need gov't. But IMHO ours has gotten out of hand and is attempting to rule our lives. Gov't should maintain our infrastructure, punish those who commit crimes (not victimless crimes like drug possession), provide for our common defense, and then get out of our lives and quit telling us what to do.

Again, thank you for a well thought out position. The concern I have is that as the positions of power change from one group to another, they will always try to force their view of morality down everyone's throat in an effort to diffuse the ugliness you speak of. What about this: If we just abide by the concept of not cheating, stealing, murdering, raping, robbing, etc then everyone can decide what it means to live by their own morals. I appreciate your position and I'm guessing we are actually closer to agreement than disagreement. Best wishes friend.

EXACTLY! I do try to look at what politicians do vs what they say. That's why I don't trust any of them. Including career politicians like McConnell, Boehner, Clinton and Obama as well as those who have only recently become politicians like DJT. They all just want to control you. Why else would anyone want to be a politician?Maybe we should look in their heart like Trump's, and not listen to what they say.
