Fun thread, + rep.

Apologize if this has been answered, but have you grown Master Kush before with other HID/HPS to be able to compare the difference in yield, flowering time, ect.? Is this Nirvana's Master Kush? Thanks.

*Edit. Guess it won't let me rep you again yet, but will when i can.

35 days into flower, packing on the crystal big time... Starting to flush tomorrow as they appear to be ahead of schedule. I think that maybe this is a 6 weeker instead of a 7 weeker as claimed by the "clone guy". Regardless, I cant wait to smoke some of this pure candy!

Feel free to harvest as you feel is best for you, but from the limited pictures i see, i would take that strain at least 8 weeks before flushing, 9 weeks+ total. Everyone chooses to harvest when they feel best, but i really think you will miss out on the weight that is packed on the last few weeks of flowering by trying to chop in 6 weeks. Haste makes waste, be patient, i think you will be happy in the long run.

I'm going to stick it out for another 2 weeks...

Looking great - it amazes me that there are still people who don't, can't or simply won't believe that LEDs produce great buds.

+rep for taking the time to show so many photos.
where could i find a good led light?
how do they work can i use a reg lamp?
what wattage should i look out for?
and are there any diff color spectrum to look out for?

i have always wondered about LEDs they are super bright so they should produce ok. i mean i thought CFL were bad at first now i love em

Not trying to jack your thread LBG but thought as though we are using the same panels and you seem pretty busy I'd throw in my $.02

@rob1234 you want to pick and led grow light ideally as LED's can have a very specific spectrum. Usually good LED grow light focus on the Red and Blue spectrum which is the spectrum most used by Chlorophyl A & B which is what makes your plants grow. The good lights seem to have a little white and UV for overall plant heath and to inhibit mould.

Biggest issue with LED's is penetration which is why a lot of LED's have problems with bud density. TWO biggest things to look for in LED's is the wattage of the individual chipsets and lens angle.

An LED grow light that is 150W but all 1W LED's (so 150 LED's total) just won't penetrate like 150W with 3W LED's (so 50 LED's total). Basically the watts per m sq drops off dramatically with the lower powered LED's and they are largely useless once you get about 12" from the panel whereas 3W LED's put up decent numbers even up to 4 ft from the panel with the real high quality ones. This is also contingent on LENS ANGLE. Lens angle is how focused the light is comming off the individual LED's. Think of it like how good the reflector is with an HID. I've seen 120 degree lens angle LED's which basically throw light everywhere and the lack of focus means reduced penetration. My personal preference is 60 or 90 lens angle with 90 providing good coverage over a larger area which is good for shorter plants and the 60 degree provides better penetration in a smaller area so good for taller plants.

As for where to get a good led light....that's the million dollar question and that's why so many of us are intently watching the outcome of these grows :-)

I bought mine at the same place as ledbudguy but I'm gonna run bigger plants and looking for higher powered units for flowering as I'll need more penetration. Must say that I've been impressed as hell with this grow so far. For a restriced grow space and only 850W I'm gonna guess it will easily put up HID gram per watt numbers so guess we'll see :-)

38 days... One more feeding on day 41 and the rinse cycle is on. I've decided to do another grow journal after this one. I have 3 strains available for this next grow;

1) sour diesel
2) purple kush
3) blue cheese

Does anyone have any experience with the sour diesel or blue cheese?

The plants are 14" tall and I can tell you without a doubt that the buds are as hard as golfballs. LEDs work, no shit!
Yeah they are all hard as rocks while on the plant, its after dry and cure where the real difference is. Obviously the LED's can grow plants, no one is disputing that, but do you think they are growing better under the LED setup than they would under a HPS setup?

44 days into flower, 5 more days of flush and these babies are coming down! I smoked a wee sample Christmas eve and the shit is killer!!!

I have to admit that I am overall very impressed with how these LEDs have performed. I have never seen such healthy plants right through to harvest, it's actually quite incredible. Trichome production is insane and the nugs are dense man!!!

I would say that they are growing many times better under the LEDs than under a HPS setup ... why? ... because a HPS setup wouldn't fit into the space, you remember the thread title? "Confined Space 850W LED Master Kush Grow".

LEDs are simply much more versatile, they can be used where other systems cannot - so the yield would be zero under HPS compared to ??? under the LEDs.
