Confined Space 850W LED Master Kush Grow

What do you think of the penetration of those lights? Do you think a higher powered panel especially with more high powered LED chipsets would make a dramatic difference? Mind you for 170W panels you've got quite a few good size plants under them so in the end I'm sure you'll do well for grams per watt but can't help think of the potential if the bottoms were bathed in light too :-)

+rep for the great LED grow man, it's damn near impossible to find anyone discussing large amounts of LED to grow seems everyone is trying to compare their UFO to 1000W systems and wondering why it doesn't hold up to the claims... I'm currently under 1000 HPS but when it harvests (right around when you harvest coincidentally) I'm going to swap to 3 or 4 300W LED in my little 4x4 tent with a bunch of clones straight to bloom. Do you think that's too much? I figure with the new 3W technology having 900-1200W of LED would blow away any complaints of penetration and density; though I'm sure I won't be seeing 1g:1W with that kind of space. Any thoughts on the swap from HPS to LED would be appreciated.

IMO anytime you go straight from clones to flower the plant lacks the maturity to reach it's genetic potential and thus you sacrifice weight and THC content. Trying to find the link I used to have on an actual horticultural study about that. Best scenario is to wait for pre-flowers but I think you at least need to let them hit three leaf sets.

I'm veging right now under the same panels Ledbudguy us using and I\m in the process of picking up some 350W panels for flowering. I am of the same opinion as you about 3W chipsets, as long as they have the right lens angle, being able to penetrate no prob.

I can tell you all one thing for sure today... these are among the healthiest plants I have personally ever grow! So far into this grow the bud & trich development is nothing short of impressive!

After watering and rotating each of the plants I noticed that the plants between the panels seem to be the biggest in terms of bud production due to the interlacing of the spectrums from 2 different lights. Pretty interesting stuff!

Anyways, huge feeding today the girls are in full drinking mode :)

Thats a great idea....More Mylar the better the stuff is perfect for maximum light reflection :) Also if you hang a few 250W Envirolite CFL's (red spectrum) in there, they will help adjust the spectrum to give a higher bud production rate, either way if you use supplement lighting or you don't, I'am still interested to see the results you get...What nuitrients are you using? - STELTHY :leaf:
It's my understanding there is very little reflective benefit with LEDs.

Great grow btw. Looks like a bumper crop, soon. The buds will tighten-up nicely with that much light. Quality LEDs are changing a lot of people's minds.

Cheers!

Everything still looks like its going very well! Have you got an estimated date of harvest? Also I wondered whether you had any plans of turning your waste and excess plant matter into 'Hash' I made some on my last grow and the stuff was well nice, Its defo. better than throwing all the excess leaves, stems and popcorn buds away - STELTHY :leaf:

Today is day 20 of flower and this strain is a 7 weeker so roughly 29 days left to go. I'd be down with making some hash but I've never done it before, I usually make butter. Do you have a secret recipe for making some old school hash?
