Concerns About Telling my Caregiver that I'm trying a Grow.

Couldn't agree more about drying and curing. I have ruined more than one big jar of meds. I finally got the knack I believe, but I still worry about every plant until it's done. I am fortunate enough to have a large room available just for cutting and curing. I am able to control temp and humidity in it. I find temps in the 60s and RH at about 60 to work best for me. Not rushing it is a no brainer of course.
Something I realized recently that works too is jarring it a day or so before it's really ready for jars, but only for about a day. Then I put it back on the screens for a day. I might do that twice sometimes. I dunno..seems to help maintain and maybe intensify the aroma. Just don't forget about it for too long.

here in the uk medication is free from the doctors, if it weren't and i had to pay for it then yes i would class them as drug dealers to a degree it depends on if it were to line there pockets. my doctor doesn't get paid any extra for prescribing my medication so it doesn't benefit him to prescribe anything that isn't in my best interest

like i said guys i'm in the uk and would like to understand the difference, i'm not tring to cause any arguments i'm just interested as somebody that uses mj as a medication (crohnes)

at freelife i grow myself and understand the cost time etc, that's why i commented on it. i've been growing for 3years or so now and it costs me very little per oz i haven't done the maths but after my first crop i was in the profit margin straight away and since that first grow it's simply expenses

Try growing for another person and worrying about quality. You have to be very mindfull on every thing you use on that plant because it could harm the person that uses it. Also when you grow more you have bigger safty steps to take for fire or any thing that could happen.

i'm not asking for any details on your practices guys just what your personal opinions on the questions i asked. i'm not calling you drug dealers or looking for an argument i'm just genuinely interested in your opinions, i'm all for legalisation and mmj, if the day ever comes here in the uk i would be classified as an mmj user and would really like to understand

thanks for your answer mate, i grow in soil with organic ferts and am very mindful of what i use. i'm currently running 2x600w hps in air cooled hoods, 1x8"inline fan for extraction 1small 4" inline for intake 1x8bulb large t5 about 350w and a200w blue cfl for clones so understand on a small scale some of the lengths that have to be taken i use contact timers to be safe and everything is connected to trip switches as to avoid over heating etc

No need to keep apologizing, W Dragon. This is a discussion and I'm sure everyone recognizes it as such.

To me, the nut of your question(s) comes down to: whose plants are they? For me, it is the grower, whomever that is. A caregiver is alloted, by the state, 6 plants per patient in their care. The patient doesn't "give" or allot the plants; they designate a caregiver or dispensary to provide meds.

As to cost of the meds, there are good reasons for pricing the way it is. Aside from the obvious expenses, which can be considerable here in the northeast, there is the time, labor and expertise of the grower to consider. Perhaps more importantly though is the high liklihood of diversion of meds to the black market if they are significantly less expensive.

now just think about what it would cost to make your set up twice the size. and the tax you need to pay on your sales. Drug dealers dont pay tax's; that pay for roads, schools and things like that.

thanks for the answers mate, the apologies are so you guys didn't think i was trolling or looking for an argument i am genuinely interested in your opinions as i believe to my core that mj works for an un-measurable amount of illnesses and ailments, i'm just not sure how the lines are drawn in the sand between dealer and caregiver

also i should add that i hadn't taken paying taxes on each oz into account and overlooked the keeping accounts involved

just like a loan shark(vino on the block) vs a high interest lender (money tree); one is registered, regulated, pays taxes, and can be searched by the law; they operate within proffesional/legal contracts they require all parties to meet obligations, with consequenses in a court of law. the other does not
