Completed critical Jack Herer(something went wrong)

So guys heres my first photo plant that i recently harvested. i had two jack herer plants, both were started at the exact same time, given the exact same everything. Long veg, like 2 months min. so the girls are nice size, coco coir, in 5 gallon buckets. fox farms trio and Cha ching added according to their schedule. Personally, i think i waited way too long to harvest. A week ago i added sledgehammer to flush out my plants so i did the 2nd to last feeding with the flush product. Then the last feed was RODI only water, 0 tds(or ppm is what yall call it). Well after the flush, one plant just started to die, lost ALOT of thc glands. And the outter top leaves died off. The other one, is looking beautiful. BLINGING from a mile away, looks like it was dipped in sugar. Why would one die, and the other prosper? I dont get it...

Here are some pics for yall.

Here is plant one (the good one)

Now plant#2 (the brown)

i think i waited too long to harvest what else would cause this? cause if i posted some of the ones from a month ago you wouldnt believe that its the same plants.

But on a side note, shes a little thick right? like i think i got a good bit off her. gotta wait for an exact weight.
But im very pleased seeing as it was my first time.

Hell, the Buds look great! I'd just chalk it up as less to trim ;)

Honestly, I think the leaves are suppose to die when you flush, because you are not feeding it anymore, so the only food the plant has is in its leaves.

My best thought for the green one is, when you flush once, you dont always flush all the nutes technically. The plant will actually send nutes back into the res after a flush. Im assuming, the 1 green Jack had more nutes stored in its leaves than the brown one.

They look great, and I cant imagine it being a problem. I bet the brown one tastes less like chlorophyll than the green one :)

Let me know how things turn out. Yield and taste and stuff. Good job Bro

thanks a lot buddy, I appreciate the continued help. Yeah i know some will brown out but with that one I have, it lost a lot of trichomes. Another thing, the buds on the brown one aren't as hard, dense, or nicely formed.

The brown plant also had a lot of smaller tiny buds. One thing I should mention is that even after my intial training and topping during veg, I still had to take string and tie down branches because I vegged far to long for my height restrictions. I'm sure that reduces yeild some but it was that or have burned buds. Anyways I'm impressed by the amount of work that it requires. Plus that trimming is insane. I can't imagine having to do like 1 pound or more, that shit was suck ass.

Anyways something definitely happened to that one plant, But I wanna find out because I can't afford to ruin any product.

Thanks again guys.

I've never understood the need to kill a plant right up to harvest. it looks like some heavy fertilizer damage on the good one, and starvation/overfertilizing on the second one. personally i don't flush and never have a problem with taste. I do cut back on feeding towards the end as the plants need less, but I never harvest plants that look like that (at least not any more, they went straight to the hash pile).

I just remember the saying, healthy roots and healthy leaves is key to a happy harvest.

It looks to me to be a shock issue, in that for that much die off is sort of unusual. Different plants will react differentially to the same environment. That is why you will always have a runt in a grow, and some thrive. It is really hard to keep a Herer too long, but the tricomes will tell. I would say the herb is as good as the pretty one, so enjoy.

Hey thanks for the input. AGAIN this was my first time. Both plants were fed EXACTLY THE SAME! Fox farms mix in the water... So it doesn't make any sense to say one was over fed while the other was starved. But again I am a noob.

So look guys after taking two buds that looked similar in size and shape, one from each plant. The bud doesn't even look the same the crappy one is soft fluffy bud with more hairs than green, while the good one Is dense bud lighter green, smells better, stickier everything.so these were actually free seeds that I got with my herbies order. So they were not in the manufacturers packaging. Any chance they were different plants? Wait till I post a pic huge difference between them both.

Thanks, I have to even with this one craping out I'm excited with how much bud i got. Don't know exactly how much (plus it's wet). I know just three of the biggest tops weighed 114g, again that's wet but I figured its about 2 ounces dry from three colas. Not bad for a 1st timer. I say first timer but really i grew one auto so I have a little experience.

Anyhow onto the CURE!

Not knocking ya, and congrats on the first grow...in full disclosure, I've done this as well :)
I had used Fox farms as well. Just a few observations with using FF, don't follow the feeding schedule..its too much for most plants. Also FF doesnt have enough N for flower so keep an eye on that in ths future. if you plan on growing, and definitely do as its such a rewarding hobby, consider this book

Good on getting a harvest! We all start somewhere and there is always so much more to learn and discover

ETA: some plants from the same ceed stock will have different feeding requirements and remember less is more. it is easier to fix under feeding than over feeding
