Community growing/grow crew

I'm getting to a stage where my small but tedious legal grow hobby could use extra help. I tried with a patient, donating time for extra medicine but it didn't work out (forgot to water plants), so I'm thinking of recruiting a friend who is interested and competent. He would help in exchange for the $500 rent. This would allow us to grow for more patients and supply them with more meds. The question is, beyond the free rent, how are things like meds and pay decided in a community grow/grow crew type of arrangement?

Whatever deal you make with your partner is up to you........the more pressing thing on my mind that I can't stress enough to people wanting to do this Is when there's money involved from the beginning sometimes people are only worried about that .....so all I have to say is when you use the word patient please take that serious and remember the people your planning on growing this stuff for really depend on good medicine and they deserve the best .......so if your doing this with the intent to help patients get cannabas .....I hope you've been growing a long time and your shit is top shelf grade A cause that's what a patient deserves that's all.........if your growing for yourself and friends do what makes you happy......as far the deal you wana work out with your partner just come to an agreement where your both happy that's all IMO ........just remember patients deserve the absolute best of the best .......good luck piece

Depending on what state you live you should call an MJ lawyer, spend the 300 for one hr (typical cost) and know your rights. Fed's don't care what deal you have made with your friend or how bad your patients needs meds, know your rights!

Contracts have been mentioned.

Beyond that be right up front with everything that you expect to be done. From start to harvest and trim. It helps if he has the same mentality as you do when it comes to your op. He has to treat it like a strait up business. It IS paying his rent atfter all.
Now another thing to get right on top of is having everything organised. If 2 people are messing around in a grow at different times then you'll need to communicate everything that's done. From days that they've been watered and especially days they've been fed if you're in soil.
A simple calendar hanging outside of the room will do just fine as long as it's used to document that. No if's and or buts about documenting things on it immediately after everything is finished. That's a dummy proof way of making sure everyone is on the same page every step of the way. Dopers be forgetful man.
You also need to work out the whole privacy thing. If you want to keep people away from your grow op and whatnot then they have to know that right up front and everything. No bringing strangers in and showing it off etc. If you're fine with that sort of thing then I suppose let it be. If not then you need to have an absolute zero tolerance policy on it.
If he visits other friends grows he needs to clean up 100% before handling yours.
Also there's the whole trust thing. I wouldn't trust anyone right off the bat. Especially after harvest. Double that if they're a smoker. Just automatically assume the worst can and will happen. Prepare prevention methods. Buy something to store your meds in that they don't have access to.
If you pull a 10-15k harvest out of your room. Dry it and get it jarred. That's quite a bit of temptation for anyone. But having it locked up in some sort of safe means it's going to be a pain in the ass to for them to take.
That's pretty much rent for the next year. If you're in a place with a low cost of living it could stretch out far beyond that.
Not only would you be totally screwed out of the time/money invested (he's not paying rent) but then your patients will totally be screwed as well. They'll be forced to look elsewhere and you just lost them.
A stupid thief is short sighted and barely makes enough for whatever score they get.
A smart one would be patient. Especially in a situation like yours where they're not having to invest a whole lot while they wait.
Rule #1 trust no one.
But who knows they might work out just fine. I'm just biased because I've done the whole partner thing before. Been burned. I said never again. It hit me fucking hard.
But then again I had a situation similar to yours. Took a guy on as a partner. Established boundaries and stuck to them. Made a gameplan that pretty much summed up to the harvests will be set back to cover the rent. It's off limits other than that. Both had full time jobs (40-55 hours a week) and took care of everything else at our own expense 50/50.
Quality of life was good. I got a pretty good friend out of that ordeal.
Now we've both moved on and are doing our own things. But we look after each other when the need arises. Freely share info on people. People to avoid etc.
If you do take em on I hope it all works out in the end.
