Combination Lights

I have been doing some research and am wondering if anyone is using combination Halide/HPS. The system I am looking at has both bulbs in the same refelctor. It comes in an 800 W, with 400 W Halide and 400 W HPS, 2 ballasts, cords, etc. and produces 95000 lumens. THere is also a 1000 w version with 295000 lumens. Anyone have any expierence with these dual systems? You can also mix and match all Halide or all HPS.

Thanks,

Put it all together in one spot. Multiple threads will get you ignored. YOu have some research to do about lights. VV

Gotcha on multiple threads....

So, what about combination Halide/HPS lights? It seems logical to me that a combination halide/hps would be closer to natural light for veg stage and work well during flowering? Also, since my hydro is 4 X 4 7" 2 400 watt bulbs gives 800 watts ?

Thank you for helping too educate, I truly appreciate anyones time that responds.......

i just purchased one of those bad boys last week, friday. should be in this week

i started a thread on interuppting dark tiem during floweirng and someone suggested to alternate MH and HPS during flower.
i wanted to experiment and this fixture i think is the easiest way to go about it, i havent set it up, so i have no results as of yet

i will be using it on an aeroponics system. i have soil plants that use MH for veg and HPS flower only.

but this is a small 6x4 closet and what i got is sufficient @ 1000w. ill post a new reponse or edit this one with the link to the product

I wanted to know if anyone is using both Halide/hps at the same time for either veg or flower? This light system I originally posted about has 2 sockets in the same refector that can support either 2 Halides or 2 HPS or 1 Halide and 1 HPS at the same time at a 1000 watts and can produce 265 K lumens w a combination of 1 halide and 1 hps or 290 K lumens with 2 hps 1000 w. I am sure I will have to fan cool/exhaust this system as the heat would be overwhelming.

With my limited knowledge, the dual concept sounds good for veg or flower. My intial plan is based on going from seed to harvest with no propagation/cloning at first. Starting out with a combination at 7 X 24 and then switching to the flower cycle. I am not interested in cloning right away. As this is for personal use I would probably only do 2 grows a year. I am thinking my first crop will be w/ tomato's just to get some experience with all the technology and to get a feel for the system and work out the kinks before I use my expensive seed.

I am planning the room design build and am consulting with someone who is providing lots of information on the construction concepts of my room (Thank you).

Any input would be appreciated....

Thanks,

Oh sweet!!!!

That the type of system I would like but the one I saw was for $400 and only a 800 watt. i promised hubby I wouldn't get a 1000 watt but this is nice!!!

Great price too.:peace:

The one I was looking at you add two bulbs. Either MH or hps or both.

here it is

SH Hydroponics > 1000 Watt HPS/MH Switchable Lighting System

its 1000w for both MH and HPS

the only thing i am unsure about is the reflector, ill have to see what kind of results come from that thing.

2000 watt !!!! Hubby would never go for that.
Yes i know that only has one bulb. it's not my link I just copied it from buddy and said it was a nice system.
The one I am looking at is an 800 watt system that takes 2 bulbs either MH and hps or both.
air cooled etc...

hey Lacy...this is the dual spectrum grow lamp I was referring to....

The Grolux dual spectrum lamp is the biggest selling grow lamp in the indoor gardening market today. The Grolux emits a wider and more usable spectrum of light than other sodium lamps; it can therefore be used for a variety of applications - a good all round lamp that most plants will thrive under.

Good luck....

Yes. thats very interesting. It look as though it is just a special bulb that fits in a regular ballast.
Very cool find. Oh the choices!!!:-| Way too many choices but at least I am narrowing it down some.
Thanks again tahoe:peace:

thats my understanding....I would need to confirm that but....I do believe so....good luck.
