Colour temperature mixing

Ok so i just bough a whole bunch of 23 watt cfl's. It was difficult to find 6500k's in regular stores but i managed to get 2. If i were to mix these two 6500k's with two 2700k's would it affect the vegetative phase negatively?

Naw i think ur plants will love the mix, its REALLY only light, regarless of color. i veg with HPS and flower with MH right now...i think u will b fine. check out my grow in my sig if u wanna see.

I use 3000k cfls for flowering and two 6500k to mix things up. I've heard that blue light effects the potency of your buds. Im on my fifth cfl grow and i've been using this setup for about 6 months or so and ever since I've added those 2 blue lights the smoke has been pretty strong. Hope this helps. Good luck with your grow.:bigjoint:

Having one 2700˚K bulb of equal wattage/lumen output for every 3 6500˚K bulbs during vegetative growth would be good. Reverse that combo so you've got 3:1 red:blue during flowering and you'll have an efficient full-spectrum light set-up. Just a suggestion, whatever works for your plants is what would be best, of course!

Yes, it's a great idea to round out your light spectrum. And cfls are a great way to do it.

You should try mixing a couple UV-B bulbs in there as well.

I think that it does make a small but noticeable increase in resin production.
