Don't brag about it being "easy" to grow, because that is what makes the general public hate growers. They think we are all ghetto lazy asses lookin to make a quick buck. I want my customers to appreciate how much work I put into their smoke.

the only way to beat the stereotype is till "they" try to grow.I know 100 people that tried and 5 that completed a grow.Even if it was easy.very few have the dedication it takes to live their life that way.
As far as taxes, just wait.Theu will be piling on the taxes.25% is just the begining. My state will always vote no and keep big MMJ/Big Gov't outta our lives

Just caught the news on tv that Denver International is on high alert for weed - $1000 fine. I would just like to point out that smuggling cigarettes is probably more profitable than smuggling weed for 80% of us.

Challenge yourself! Aim to improve your yield every season, start breeding your own true strains, etc.

Challenge yourself if you aspire to be a great grower!

The problem now is that the black market (home growers) will now have to sell for much lower than normal to compete with the government backed grows. So essentially uncle sam just stole cannabis from the people..
Bullshit, that wont be happining any time soon around my way. In maine they really want it legal and if it does i wont sweat it because their prices are to high. I produce a quality product which i believe will compare to anything they can produce. and if they are selling it for $500 then i can sell it for half of that.

I am with you,

To many people think that we throw a seed in the ground and a little while later 24 ounces shows up on our doorsteps.

Having a green thumb makes growing easy, researching and learning from mistakes makes growing easy. Manufacturing shit for sale is a whole other thing that I do not do and know little of, but growing a plant from seed to bud is fairly easy. Takes time and effort yes, but it's easier than working some other kinds of crops. Unless hydro.

You hit on something that I think most likely will happen here. The new prop initiative is really a crap deal with adding regulation and more government. But I'm still kinda on the fence, I signed the ballot initiative but really can care less if it passes. It is nothing but adopting the lower 48 stupidity. Prop 4 should of passed, and I think would of if only the people who wrote it would of left out the compensation clause. I would support and vote for a law that had zero plant limits and zero added agencies in a heartbeat.

Marketing! Shower? Some new clothes? Never had this problem - good weed talks - schwag walks.

Edit, not meant personally. I'm sure nobody here grows schwag.
Don't be to sure :) I grew some really awful Nirvana stuff LOL! I'm doing a lil' bit better but yeah schwag... I still have a looooooooooooooong way to go to be a serious grower. Oh shouldn't have quit my day job, ha!

Portland Maine did just legalize. 2.5 ounces per person max. It's not for sales or distribution, but they passed it.

even the best still grow schwag. the good thing is that people still want to pay money for it.

i bet half the people waiting in those lines would have even paid $440 an ounce for it, just because now they can.

i am still kind of shocked that this is happening, i dreamt about it as a teen getting high. and now here it is.

the only thing to do now is wait around and see what the next administration decides to do.

From what I've heard, Medical Marijuana patients won't have to pay the entire tax that recreational users will be paying. I believe they're also allowed to possess a greater quantity than rec users. I guess time will tell how this all works out. The dominoes will now begin to fall!!!! :eyesmoke:
according to colorado patients thread, they are still honoring the same MMJ pricing as before to patients..

It amazes me that so many growers are opposed to legalization for the sole reason that they might have to lower their prices.. if you can't compete in the market, tough luck. That's how it works.
I'm not opposed to a free market. Just read my original post.:wall:
