Color of my Dreams: PART 2 BLUE BUDS

I saw Fdd2blk's thread https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/9902-color-my-dreams.html and I was inspired! A lot of people wanted more results so here they come!


I have set this experiment up wit a few different variables this time. I will run it a few times slightly different each time and I will record my findings in this thread. The overall goal is to change the color while not harming the taste and to have some fun! I think I can improve/tweek the taste!

You put a fresh cut/wet bud in a tiny bowl of colored/flavored water. JUST THE STEM not the actual bud!!!!!!! It will soak the color up and show it in it's flower.

EXPERIMENT 1: Color

SAME STRAIN/PLANT IN ALL CUPS.
Cup1 Blue food Dye with sugar(1/3 of each) 24 hours later VERY VERY BLUE BUD!
First bud in all pics is normal.

Cup2 Purple food dye(mixed as instructed) 24hrs only a few stems changed.

Cup3 Red (small amount) 24hrs Also a few stems but nothing much.

Cup4 STRONG Grape Kool-aid 24hrs nothing changed color, maybe the flavor will be different.
No pic, it stayed the same.

I will now dry/cure all this bud and see how it is. In the original exp it was speed dried and I think that was his problem.

EDIT: Since drying a little the red and purple buds are showing up better and the blue is way more intense.

thats pretty neat! how was the flavor of the grape one? i think im gonna try using genetics, temp, and drop my ph in the last week of flower to see if i can get some purps, got purple widow in the mail atm

I don't know about the rest of you, but my goal is to grow the purest medicine possible, I don't want to be smoking food coloring and sugar. Sugar will caramelize as it burns when given post-mortem like that, and the food coloring? Just not for me.

This is a pretty cool idea man, keep it up! What about black coloring or maybe orange?

It seems like you could use the coloring as a way to quickly track or trace the uptake of water to your buds.

The flavor was not affected by any of them just the color. Try it out guys, It doesn't hurt!

I guess there is no real answer man. I just wanted to know if it worked really.

Green is my favorite color anyways.
