College is pretty damn badass, like right now its almost three only had one class today and can now enjoy a nice bowl in my room without anybody bothering me. My RA doesnt care at all about weed and smokes in his room anyway so he wont bust anybody for pot.

Yeah, dorms can be hit or miss. Who your RA is can make a huge difference no matter what college you go to. I never lived in a dorm, always had an apartment and I gotta say it was the way to go for me. I'm pretty good at making friends anyways so I didn't really need the help of being in a dorm. But dorm life can be pretty cool if you're going to a college where you know absolutely no one. When I have kids I'm gonna tell them to stay in the dorms for the first year just for the experience, but to get an apartment after.

Having your own place is badass.

I just loved being able to wake up 5 minutes before class through on a hoodie and walk about the door...

But yeah, unless you're an RA or on full scholarship, do get an apartment your last couple years, but Dorms are great to start off and meet tons of peeps

I wish I would of went to college. Only problem is I'm 20, dropped out of high school in my senior year, and now work fast food, and am raising a son.

I would have to agree that staying in the dorms for at least a year is the way to go. I moved off-campus after my second year and wish I would have just stayed. My advice, just enjoy the experience. Don't bog yourself down by trying to be superman and do everything.

College is useless.

Go to a community college for the first two years, then transfer. Save your parents some money.

Its all about the paper. It will add nothing of value, per se.

The only benefit you get is the experience. Which is overrated.

Hurry up, and get the fuck out, then you can really party.

College parties are overrated anyway. Trouble is, you have to experience the good ones AFTER you get out to know that.

American universities are nothing more than indoctrination camps for political correctness.

Just pick something. It doesn't matter. My sister, got her B.S. in Computer Systems management. She knows nothing about them. She works in the back office of RBC processing mortgage aps - a canadian bank that has invested heavily in the south.

Just play the game. Don't try to actually "learn" anything. Its a waste. Spend your time on figuring out what the professor want to hear - then spoon feed the shit out it. Get your paper, and do what you want. 90% of employers will respect you if you just say "I just wanted to get out of there, so I picked xyz as a major, but I love what you guys do here." Chances are you'll get the job.

And for those, who take offense at my "don't try to learn anything" comment - your an adult, if you want to learn about something, go to the fucking library. You can't teach yourself?

Bottom line, college is about who can follow the rules. That's what 90% of it is about. Play the game for a few years, then, you can play your own.

It'll get better. Or, maybe not, if you're already married.... I did in 99. Graduate, I'm not married yet. And don't want to be.

For me, I still hang around some of my college friends. So, I guess we just do it up more. We don't have to worry about 1/2 the shit we used to.......like money! We all had jobs back then, now we don't have school. So we have more time. Now, we just do what we want. We don't party on the weekdays like we used to, but we're a little older, and it takes more time to recoup. But, they are much funner. I don't know, there was a lot of useless bullshit that I could've done without.

I think it all depends. I visited my brother at Cornell and the atmosphere was amazing. People were friendly and frats were cool, no dickheads (I understand, it's an Ivy League). And I'm sure over at Boulder it's a complete different story.

does anyone ever grow inside the dorms?

welll after high school(hated it but was still a lil fun) i took a 6 month break (smoked weed every day and just waisted my life away) and now im in college and LOVE IT best thing ever... just make sure to have fun but not to much
