hi guys what with it being so cold at the moment when i get to put my grow onto flower or 12 hours light am worried about the cold in my tent as i did have it on 18 hours but noticed at night it got quite cold in there so i,ve kept it on 24/7 lighting now..
do you think it be wise to buy a small oil radiator heater or something to keep the tent heated when on the 12 hour cycle ???

Cold ? how cold ? thermometer
not sure as never leave the lights off but i have to leave the windows open to suck in cold air as its to hot in there when the light are on (around 30-33) been trying to use fans to get the temp down, at night its below 0 outside and gets cold in there so thought buying a heater with a Adjustable room thermostate may do the job

I have my grow in my attic, temps here are at freezing point aswell.

I've put a small fan heater up there which comes on every half hour. It's a big space so don't really think the heaters doing much but my plants seem fine. Sits at around 40 Fahrenheit, which I'm told is too cold but like I've said my plants don't seem to mind.

If your temp drops below 60 than your plants are slowing way down and you will never get great growth. You need to keep them warm at night around 65 to 75 is OK

I don't think heating a cold zone is a smart idea,

I'm totally new at this but here is what I do to keep the temperature consistent in my tent and it works great.

I have a WIN100 Thermostat Outlet, which is a device that can be used for heating or cooling, it has a digital clock and it handles multiple "times" of day, in that you can set it to have the temperature at say 80F during the day and then say 72F at night, for example

I've got a small space heater plugged into it, and since I'm on a 24 hour light cycle now, I've got it set for 80F with a 3 degree variation, so when the temp goes to 77F, it turns on the heater and warms things up.

It works perfectly and is $35 on Amazon, then of coarse you have to have a heater, just a cheap one with NO thermostat so it can just be turned on and off by the thermostat outlet.

The link on Amazon is:

Hope this helps.

So 75 is at the low end of the spectrum? What do you run with the lights on? Mine are on 24/0 and the temp stays at 74 about all the time. Is that bad?

No it's not bad but that is the low end with lights on, they like it better when lights on temps are in the 80's, 85 ideal. To bring up the temp slow down the exhaust fan a little.

Yea I killed one of the intakes and it upped the temp 4 or 5 degrees. Sounds like I should get a fan controller for the exhaust

No that's OK but adding another 10 deg will make your plants happy 85 is best, everything is working at peak performance at 85. Best results, best bud.

Peace
