Ah ok

I managed to get an 18w ir for cct crap should do the job, now I don`t know if I should run the IR 24/7 when I get it or just for an hour or so after lights out

Yeah I hear that

Would running them the whole night or even when my lights are on so 24/7 be an issue ? I mean a lot of medical grows have cctv cams with ir running during the whole of the night period ?

Some people claim to be able to cut down to 14/10 on sativa`s some people have said they run their lights 22/2 or even 23/1 as the ir puts them to sleep faster

I`m just thinking running the ir 25/7 might make them smell more and I like it when they smell more

I think you may be missing the main point, first off i believe ir and far red are a bit different wave lengths of light. Far reds I have are 730-740nm...i think ir is higher maybe in the 800's? Any ways it only takes 5 min after lights out to put the plants to sleep, and without any light interruption they stay asleep. So keeping the far reds on after that will be a waste, as well as lead to more stretching of your node spacing.

Oh but my plants are too short because my main lights are just well 600w of blue and red cob leds

And if they just need 5 mins of far red to put them to sleep then can`t you just fire your lights back up again ? I mean really could you run for 12 hours run ir or far red for 5 mins to 2 hours and then run your lights again and have the plants flower ?

I was mainly looking at light spectrums that reverse the hormone break down or development of what causes flowering and it seemed that something in the 850`s should help the plants turn off

but as it seems that all weed plants seem to cycle their hormones even with the lights on that`s why you still get small buds on a plant when you run it 24/7

Anyway I was just thinking at the worse maybe it would do the same for my plants as running say 10/14 would in regards to amber trichome development but I`d actually be running 12/12 or 14/10 with not much stalling on the amber development

It does sound a bit too good to be true I`ll give you that, but even if it just makes the taller it saves me using ga3

I'm not sure I can explain it any better sorry Kon,
as far as my own plants issues i fed them yesterday at only 850 ppm and by today some leaves popped up like the pic below. The dots are not brown but almost black, its not mold or anything so anybody seen this before? I may be lucky here but have never seen this in all my years of growing

maybe ph is temporarily out of whack from the salt ferts?IDK, a flush would confirm though................what part of the plant are the leaves showing this???

The run isnt showing any high ppms so idk, but the medium size leaves...its weird not the small or big fan leaves have it

That is weird, is it hidden in the canopy or direct light? Also top or bottom of the plant? My first though is K def. but I feel like it would be a little more pronounced if that was theproblem but you did say it started today so thatis ky besy giess woth the interveinal blackness

Its luckily not on every plant , but the plants that have are affected in direct light

What's your regiment....Feed-water -water- feed/etc?.....runoff ppms isn't accurate

Affected closest to the bulbs?

You've ruled out fungal/pest completely correct?

Not that its closest to the bulb as much as in the center where the light is the most intense. And i alternate between half strength and 75% every watering. i thought straight water in pure coco was bad? But I am a coco noob lol. Going back to my readygro mix next as i can't be hand watering every day it sucks
Edit : no bugs

you sprayed them with anything ?

Could just be a bit of under feeding ?

Good side to coco is way less ph problems as long as you let the stuff get dry between waterings most people get great results on anything from ph 5 to 7 maybe even 8 but I would`nt want to be dropping many leaves if I was still more then a week or 2 from flush

I thought it was recommended to use straight water between synthetic feedings in coco??? not much of a pure coco man myself; so not sure..................puff's been using it forever, so maybe he can chime in:joint:

good luck and be safe

i used to do water/tea/feed in sunshine advanced #4. it depends on how
often you water as to if you do plain water or not. if you're doing multiple
waterings per day, you never use plain water. if you're only watering once
per day they you can use plain water. pure coco functions similarly to a
soil if you only water once per day, but like a hydro medium if you water
multiple times.

A veg update, while things are going pretty well health wise, new strains are the pain in the balls.....Maybe some spectrum knowledge based heads can help me figure out what may be going on here. My plants are getting nice levels of nutes in the normal npk ratio for veg , however these girls node spacing is terrible!!! I mean the cmh has never done me wrong, maybe a tad more stretchy than under 6500k mh/t5 but still nice. Scratching my head at the fact that since adding the 450nm/6500k led ufos (for the exact purpose of keeping tight node spacing) the following pics show otherwise. They are in 3 gal pots, maybe they are just in there too tight???

Quick update on the next veggies to hit the big cmh flower room once i chop a lop the forest, I like the cmh/blue led combo but may drop the leds next veg as it may be the new strains , but it seemed to cause less node stretch with cmh alone. :bigjoint:

Ladies from my other op under just cmh, as i said above with just cmh they are more bushy....could be the pheno of the ice bomb above, but these ladies are green crack, blueberry widow and strawberry cough in the back and they are "supposed" to be mostly sativa. Next pic are going to be temporary mother plants of critical sensi star and blue dream
IMAG0563.jpg IMAG0564.jpg
And last but not least the flower room update, now in the 8th week and fading as they've been flushed. Im going to try the 3 day darkness routine before chop. You can see the clear difference of intensity with these lamps/reflectors too close to canopy (even at 18" away) as the inner leaves are much more yellowed out vs the outer edge of foliage still a very lush green. The outer edge buds/colas also seem are more frosty but still nicely sized and dense. Next run I'll be doing a better job at canopy control in terms of height and spread of colas to keep a distance of 24-36" from the lamps, maybe a trellis or some sort of cage system will need to be in place. :weed:
IMG_0388.JPG IMG_0389.JPG

Edit: Most of the colas in these pics are very much leaned over from the weight, so they are much further away from the lamps than previous weeks.
