Coco help!!!

Whats up guys quick question for you. I just did the switch from soil to coco and im watering everyday and today i notice that some kind on mold was growing on the top of the coco. I just pinched it off since it was only a little bit any ideas?
Temp:75°-77°
Humidity:40%-60%

Wait a little longer in between waterings.

You can, Judge the weight of the pot when it's fully watered and go by that to determine when to water.

it's no big deal....just run your fingers thru the top inch of the coco and increase air add a fan...it happens with coco cause it stays moist for so long

Don't water your coco unless it needs. I've never understood these people saying to water every day. I water every 3-4 days and have been for 5 years. If you are growing algae, just water less. Do not put h202 in. That's idiotic.

If you don't understand then perhaps I can explain. First off - coco is hydroponics just like rockwool, dwc, flood and drain, etc., etc., and like all hydroponics the roots are supposed to stay very moist - whether it be from hand watering or using an automatic dripper which keeps it saturated. Allowing the medium to dry out like soil can cause salt build up and mess with your pH in the root zone. Daily watering does several things - it replenishes the medium with fresh nutrients, it pulls in fresh oxygen for the roots, and with a 10% run off it flushes out any excess salts. I'm not trying to start a pissing match and I'm sure you grow beautiful plants, but you did say that you never understood why people water everyday.

Coco is meant to be wet, it always holds a ton oxygen, so over-watering is really hard to do. You'll get humidity/mold/algae issues and nutrient burn before you suffocate the plant any day.

Speaking of which be careful for humidity in late flower with coco. I lost my 2 biggest colas to bud rot because i wasn't watching my humidity past week 6 of flower because of the wetness of coco.

Why does that green stuff form? And just one watering with this will help?
