Is nobody using coco mats? That's what I just started and am having good results so far. I just vegged one inch clones for 2 weeks and have 7-8 inch plants already. I don't really like the ground up coco, I am thinking about air around the roots and the 1 inch mats I have are filled with thousands of air pockets. I am running 3 separate flood trays with a 4 inch cube on top of 2 inches of mat. I am running a perpetual system and am just about to start tray 2. Anyone else using mats? Thanks JR

After looking for 3 or more hours all over town to find some damn 2 gal buckets to hold my 8inch coco pot. finally giving up and going home i came across these great little pails at the $.99cent store
and they came with there own little mixing shovels an extra score!!!
that's freaking cute.

I'm wondering how to get rid of my coco? I live in a townhouse with no yard to compost...

So does the black gold brand coco blend count? if so I've been keeping my waterings at 5.9 also added some epson salt and lime to the blend. It seemed to stop the yellowing. I use alaska fish fert both veg and bloom and add mollasses and super thrive between feedings. I think the tip I got when I went to the coco blend was treat it like a hydro set up. I still suck with hydro but seem to be doing ok with the blend.
Black & Gold is one of the best Coco's you can buy, it comes out of holland and is perfectly ph'ed and moistened, just fill your pot liners and plant your seedlings, no need to water, or feed any nutes for the first 4 days as it contains enough nutrients direct outta the bag. i use it biblically with Canna nutes and have great success.

Been growin in coco for about a year now. Love the explosive growth and still trying to figure out the cal maag issues but not bad at all in my current grow. The big problem i am having now is ph runoff. i feed at 6 and its running of @ 5.4. i use the fullline of advanced connisuer non ph perfect line including bud ign. big bud overdrive bfx bud candy rhino skin mother earth tea h2 and f1. also use botonicares cal mag plus. begging of week 3 and feeding at 1.6 ec level. usually a light flush with sensizyme brings it back around normal jus wondering what could be causing the problem.I do feed everyday b/c i have a fast dryinng coco (botanicare prerinsed) and was thinking is was fert buildup, but i always flush when my runoof ec is more than my feed ec. Any suggestions???

Have u tried flushing with no nutes? Try RO only. That should work. (I hope u were vegging for 2 years)
