Hi guys, I am a self confessed coco'nut ^^

I grow for myself

I grow in :
1M tent
1m 100l drip tray
600s digital Dimming ballast,
400MH bulb veg and 600hps. I increment power from 25/50/75 in veg and 50/75 2 weeks of flower in MH, then HPS 600 and finally 12 days under MH.
Canna A n B, Bit of left over canna PK
H n G drip clean ( best product for coco i think, no salts = no run off, Yes NO run off whole grow)
Headmastah boost, I tried well watered down black strap before this, worked well but flushing pit for me defeated the way I grow.
3 x 6L Air Pots ( have grown in 10l and for the space, too much ^^, wonder pots! )
40l water rez and some tromph blumat maxis, good old gravity fed drippers.
ScRoG

I am getting a bit big for my own boots as I managed .75g a watt, now as this is only for me well it got to be a bit much stored!

This grow I am now 2 plants in 6l of coco. I expect more than my last 3 plant venture.

So since I lost all my WW clones to stress, shock and PH problems, and I have to start over anyway I thought I would give Coco a try since Ive heard such good things about it. I picked up a Super Silver Haze clone at a local collective and transplanted her to a 5gal Smart Pot with Coco & perlite, I then charged the Coco with a lite mix of SEVERAL nutes from Earth Juice IE: Sugar Peak, Cataylyst, Cal-N-Mag, Rich Humic Acid, Microblast, Soy-FUL, Kelp, Mykos, Bio Zeus, Actinovate and V-B1. A guy at the local hydro shop said hes uses these and gets FANTASTIC results so well see how it works for me. I have her under a 400W MH & 90W LED (getting a 400W Ceramic Metal Halide bulb soon) and my plan is to veg her and then clone her and then flower the clones. After my clones have rooted I'll need to find a place to keep the mother as I just don't have the means for two grow spaces at the moment, that may change but outlook not so good as of now. Well gotta go walk the dog but please share your opinions/advice on my setup as I'm new to growing and completely new to Coco. Thanks and keep em green.

Hello everyone. Just started another grow. If you remember the last crop i had was seized by the police. I am a legal marijuana caregiver and patient and still going through the court process 5 months after the raid. The pic is my mother plant that ive grown from seed in coco with canna products. She is a little over a month old. Ill be taking clones soon then putting her into flower. Im doing LST on her to hopefully increase the harvest.
She is under 220 watts of T5 at the moment. I have 2 air cooled 600 watt hps lights in a 4x5 room for flower. It does stays about 78 in there with both lightsphoto(1).jpgphoto.jpg going. I have a 500cfm exhaust fan with a pure carbon filter and a ozone unit.

Im still a beginner with it and find it to be pretty simple. As long as i supplement the canna nutes with cal/mag im good to go. Coco is very easy to work with.

ye i always start with 1 mill for 2 t0 5 days till there rooted and have taken and the stress of moving is over then got to 1.5 gor a week then when the plants starts to develop on its volume i go to 1.9 maybe max at 2.2 crossing into the pre flowering but the 2.2 mill is depending on lot of things. this waht brings me on the next thing to do with you're plants and the burn. first of all to much cal can cause a pattasuim lock out wih can look very similar to nute burn curling tips burnt looking patches more towards the edge then the tips and yellowing not the light green look that u get with burn. but from you're photos im seeing only tips burnt. 1 mill im my experience can be to much for some strains if feed round the 9 10 11 day mark. but most seem ok with this i grow white widow and they are sound but bubblegum use to burn with 1 mill i used to have to start with 0.5 mill. im not at work today due to the teachers strike so i will check you're feeding see what you're putting in there also youre lights how close are they and did you pre charge. cause this is were some debate on caana coco pro plus come in. some say it as to be precharged as its burnt plants on just water. never seen this just read it on forums so might not 100 percent relable as normal its down to human error. canna say its just pre rinsed and bufferd thats it. ive tried be feeding plants 14 days ols on just water to see as testing run off straight away is bad as its inacurrate and can wash away a lot of the micros and mess up buffers try to make sure the first thing to come into contact with canna coco plus is AnB(try not to get run of till at least 2 week plus) and when i did this i got mag def and the plants were starving so in my opinion its not pre charged at all. i read thou you're journal and find the problem for sure. but if youre not useing cal/mag ith to high ratios then its burn and i would just give then a good feed at 0.5 mill and biuld from there. im know its tempting to flush then feed with 0.5 mill but as the stage in the cocos like its to early for any plain or nute flush. in theary you will wash the old feed to the bottom but not out fi you get the right amount in. this will sit there and yes biuls up salt but youre plants are real young and i can garuntee if you check youre roots will not have moved far from the plug if at all. then once the recover feed with a small run off 10 percent st the most jsut to clear the old salt/feed out this is what ive done and they have recovered great in 3 days. you ill have to help me with a journal. i have alll info and photos on this grow and previous one. this way the info i put up is more trust worthy to the growers reading it
Thanks for the help again. I gave the babbies a light feed (no runoff) but they still look a bit stunted and are still a very light colour in the new growth (the aks espically)Im thinking since i was using rain water that there was no trace elements in it such as mag and cal so im gonna buy some calmag today along with some rhizo and see how they take to it on my next watering. Ill post some pics later tonight on my journal https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/488044-joesoaps-400w-coco-ak48-bagseed-2.html

Do you peeps like to cut that shit with perlite or what. Its seems very absorbent, almost too dense to the point it may prevent oxygen to roots. I kinda like the looks of the chunk.

This is an amazing thread.First post:

A friend transplanted my veg plants grown in Canna Coco from one gallons to 5 gal. smart pots. But he used Pro-Mix soil instead of coco.
Also, he wants to use Advanced Sensi A/B and other Advanced nutes - I'd been using H&G nutes in veg.

Anyone know if he should ph the water differently? (I used 5.8)
Should he do anything differently? I know that's a big question- I'm a first time grower and only know coco because this thread is so great.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Soil PH is like 6.3 -7.0 , I grow with coco I dont know you might shock the plants or the roots because you should feed coco like hydro 5.8 - 6.0.. Good luck DOes the Pro Mix have coco coir?

good point BeaverHuntr- Pro Mix has sphagnum peat moss and don't know the other additives. Will research further. Hope it goes OK.

certain coco can go to 6.5 ph with no problems at all. as some do buffer them as 6.5 as the max ph(but would not recommended it). but feeding over 6.2 in coco ive never done. i feed at 6.0 in veg to make mag more available and 5.8 in flowering to make potassium more available and go to 6.2 if a mag deffic pops up. as increasing ph slightly will help make mag more available and taking it down makes calcium more available also you can do this for other key nutrients

Yes. I have transplanted many clones from clone box's , rockwool , rapid rooter plugs into a coco medium.
