I wonder how many fakes are out there.. Kens gdp is pretty strong shit
My buddy used to get packs of that from the bay like 4-5 years ago when it was super popular. People love it because jt looks frosty and has that nice color. I personally hate that strain because I don't like the high and we smoked countless blunts of that shit in Grape swishers to match The taste. This is a matter of genetics, when half of a strains genetics come from big bud, you know it was not bred for potency hence why it sucks.

Kens gdp has lots of stories behind it.. I think he claims he was gifted the cut without any sort of knowledge of genetics.. (will get a source later I am on my phone)

Ive heard scbb x purple urkle, which would be strong since salmon creek big bud was one of the better big buds out there. ( 8 or 9 on potency).

A few sites say oregon big bud x purple urkle, but its really hard to get the info straight... I remember when we were getting 550 oz of gdp and not even flinching, cuz it literally shat on everything in its vicinity... 2005 or 6ish if I remember.

most growers also report small dense nugs... Making big bud less likely of a parent in my humble opinion

_continue on for diatribe on breeders_
This is why I dislike mj breeders , they are rarely forthright with their information and strain names: theres only a few respectable outfits left and most breeders dont even test their f1s these days.. . They just ship em out...

Ken,for the most part is well respected and I tend to side with old schoolers, but even he has a checkered history with renaming strains ;(

good gdp will drop ur jaw, I know this much.. Purple bud labeled gdp is probably what most people have smoked due to drug dealer / grower tactics

If I ever find a gdp cut representative of that shit I got 6 or 7 years ago

I agree if I had to grow a GDP it would be Kens cut, supposed to be the better and still available at good clone nurseries in Cali.

Purple does not = potent... I have found purple strains are actually less potent in most cases..

Many sow purple strains for the euphoria / aromas. Nothing like a Purp! That is for sure!

Purple Urkle is by far better compared to GDP... IMO. Yield, smoke & high.
