I wanted to share the link to my journal in this thread, since I am using CitiLED COBs currently in my grow and there seems to be a lot of people interested in them. (my COBs are premade, not DIY) The plants are very young and still in early veg, but in case anyone wants to follow along that was curious about the CitiLED performance, feel free to join along.

Thanks for informing me about these type threads, very informative, had no idea they existed (from the conversation on your youtube channel about the lumen maintenance of cxb vs CitiLED COB).Cant wait for your next grow when you mix up the osram and cob modules.

Lumileds Launches Next-Gen LUXEON CoB Core Range with Breakthrough in Efficacy
http://www.ledinside.com/products/2016/2/lumileds_launches_of_next_gen_luxeon_cob_core_range_with_breakthrough_in_efficacy

Today Lumileds introduces its third generation of Chip on Board (CoB) arrays, the LUXEON Core Range (Gen 3), extending its market leadership in the CoB space with a breakthrough in efficacy. With the LUXEON CoB Core Range (Gen 3), luminaire designers can enjoy 10% higher efficacy at constant flux compared to previous generations.

All LUXEON CoB developments are engineered to produce the highest flux with the smallest light emitting surface (LES). “This performance upgrade is the result of significant improvements in both die development and our industry-leading phosphor solutions that give us industry leading performance,” said Eric Senders, Product Line Director for the LUXEON CoB Family. The Gen 3 LUXEON CoB upgrade spans the company’s full range of products from the smallest LES of 6.5 mm (LUXEON CoB 1202s), which delivers cost effective spotlights, to an LES of 23 mm (LUXEON CoB 1216), for efficient replacement of 100-150W HIDs in indoor or outdoor applications. The LUXEON CoB Core Range is offered over the widest range of color temperatures (2200K to 5700K) and CRIs (70, 80 or 90).

Thank you for all the time, effort and money you guys pour into this kind of research. I am using your work as a foundation stone in my own, and I realize what a job it is to find these chips, test them and find better configurations for their use in gardening.

There's no way I could do what I'm doing now without help from people like yourselves, so thanks!

You just have to talk to a lot of people and sometimes free or super cheap stuff comes in the mail.
I have emailed and called at least a dozen companies, but only got a single free pair of cobs to test.
I have a 3500k and a 3000K CXM-32 from Luminus Devices.
No way of actually testing them myself though.
Gonna keep trying to get more to have a better comparison

Nevergood, what driver you are planning to use with CLU056? I thought im gonna give a try to these LedAnts drivers from Alibaba. They always respond quickly i like that and 45-58VDC 2200mA driver with shipping fees and possible taxes is like 32-34 euros per piece.

I have both versions, 108v and the 56?v.
I think the HBG-240-60 and the HLG240 h-c2100B.
Bass 2 free COB is more than you had. Keep trying, but it also means more spending. Though they do look cool in the box.

It's a bit disconcerting that they don't state the lumen maintenance but it's probably because they haven't been able to test it yet, as its so new.

Yeah I put in some leg work to get them, and am glad they sent them to me to try out

Just received new custom 275 watt and 135 watt, 3500k COB, Direct plated Copper, these will have excellent thermal characteristics

We expect the 135 Watt(somewhere between CXB3590 and Vero29) to be around USD23 and the 275 Watt around USD42
Will post PPFD and other data once tested
Cheers
