i have a grow room set up in my closet with 9 plants and right now cfls. heat has been a problem in my room for a while and when i go into flowering im going to use a 400w hps so i imagine that the heat will go up even more so i was planning on using co2. but i didnt want to buy one of those crazy co2 systems or whatever so i was thinking couldnt i just use a 20oz paintball co2 tank with a release knob on the end of it and leave it in the room for a while. would this work?

Why don't you just get a big co2 tank and leave the valve open just enough for the co2 to leak out. If your room is contained, this method works well.

We made our own co2 and our plants love it!! below is how we did it.

making co2 with yeast

Use 5 or 6 cups of sugar in a 1 gallon container, make sure the container has a fitted lid. Add half a gallon of water to the sugar along with a couple of tablespoons of active yeast.Poke a small, pencil-like hole in the lid and place it on top of the container.

As often as possible shake the container to blend the mixture thoroughly. In one or two days the yeast will grow and co2 will be a by-product in the container. Now, every time you shake it a burst of co2 will be released into the grow room. Also it will continue to be released through the hole in the lid while you are away. You'll have to change the mixture once every 2-3 weeks.

from my limited experiences, i've found that while using the more compact solution to your problems will get the job done, it is always way more efficient to go with a proven setup. i believe you are onto something with the 20oz co2 because much like cfls, paintball co2 would be effective and it is readily available but we all know that also like using cfls, this would just be a temporary fix until you can get something bigger

well since i already have ill 3 20oz co2 tanks i see no reason to buy a huge co2 tank and i dont have the money for it

exactly cause i mean a 20oz co2 tank only costs like maybe 20 if u get a used one and at the local paintball proshop by me co2 is only 5 cents a ounce so if this method works it will be very cheap
