hmmm...okay.
bt then tell me for how long shd i put it and is thr a specific time for giving co2?
is there any ill effects? can i possibly overdose my plant of co2? is there any problem if the exhaust fans are on while the co2 is given, cos that'll just take the co2 out of my cab ryt?

Hey Carcas,
Yes co2 is good for your plants if you have HID lighting. From what I understand it is not as effective with flouros. If your going to use it then you need to do it right.
You need to seal your grow room, find how long it takes to heat up from your lighting and how long to exhaust. Once you have that you can use co2 between exhaust cycles. Most growers use air cooled reflectors like cool tube.
The amount of co2 is important. Air has about 300 ppms and the best for plants is 1800 ppms I think. To find out how much you need and how long to run it here is a link to a calculator for you.

Depends. Best way is to get a meter that will tell u the ppm(parts per million). 1200- 1600 ppm is best. U should turn ur exhaust off while u give it co2. If u get the room to around 2600 ppm the plants will die. A good table I found was here on RIU.

Gladly!How long you should run it depends on the size of room and how much and how fast you can produce Co2. A specific or should I say a preferred time to administer Co2 would be lights on and during flowering.
There can be ill affects and yes you can overdose on Co2. You don't want Co2 running while exhaust fans are on because it takes the gas out

Sorry man, didn't mean to scare you off. So many guys did this to me. Every time I asked about it, I heard something negative. The reason why is so many people use it wrong so they don't have much good to say about it.
The easiest way is to get a digital meter that controls your Co2. Plug it into something else digital that controls your exhaust fans. That should stop you from wasting Co2. Set your Co2 from 1200 - 1500 ppm. There's a more complicated way but if you let money solve this problem, you could really notice the benefits of Co2.
I must mention this, if you aren't running every other factor in your grow enviroment close to 90% efficiency (as far as what your plants want), you won't really notice what Co2 can do

buy some co2 boost and put it on the same timer with your lights, but you'll still need to have a sealed grow room
