CO2 Harmful during flowering???

Hello everyone,

This my first real grow with sufficient equipment and I have a question about cooling. Currently, I am running a dryer vent duct from a A/C window shaker to the back of a small oscillating fan, but the temp is still to high around 92 degrees F. My question is, if i use dry ice to drop the temp can the extra CO2 be harmful during the budding stage? B/C the plants are 8 weeks veg now and going to begin budding within a week or so. Also, if you have used dry ice, how much do you think I would use on a per day basis?

Setup:
4 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 8 Closet
400 Watt MH & HPS
FF Ocean Forest soil
FF nutrients

Strain: Ice Creambongsmilie

Biologically speaking, I don't know why CO2 would be harmful at ANY stage since it is used for photosynthesis..

alright, here is what you want to do. take the tape off because you are limiting your a/c output and thus losing efficiency. take the bottom of a trash bag and cut it off. tape it around the a/c output vent. cut a 3 1/2 hole in it and put the vent tube in the hole. now leave the fan, but put the end of that vent to where the air will hit the bulb or near the bulbs. cold air lowers and hot rises. keep it up high and make sure your thermo is near the canopy. you could also put it where its about a foot above the canopy. and on the dry ice, it will increase your co2 but wont be enough to hurt your plants. you would have to be in a coal mine to do that. but as for cooling, would not be that effective. get an exhaust at the top of you box with a 4 or 6 inch inline fan pulling air out through the top. since hot air rises, it will pull all of the heat from the light.

hmmm interesting closet. i wonder if this is because co2 helps with photosynthesis but resin production may not directly be made by photosynthesis.

Not sure,... Ive read about it at least a dozen times on the net... I shut off my gas around the 46th day.. Only 11 days left.

well not really persay messing with it but just not maximizing it. with co2 you are using alot of carbs and suger and such for photo instead of focusing on resin production. this is just a guess from some of my knowledge in bio and botany. but may be wrong. or it may not even be true. but who knows until someone does a side by side with two dif environments.

co2 is a good thing during flowering. You can poison them if the ppm of co2 stays to high though.
I would try a sealed light hood with 6" duct opening, and run ducting on both sides of the light. run both ends of the ducting out that window and attach a 6" in line fan to one side and exhaust outside. This will blow all the hot air outside.
Good Luck

I use it. As long as you keep the ppm within some reason, you will be fine. Shut off the CO2 after 6 weeks, so as not to affect your potency. Make sure to have good air circulation, and try to have CO2 enter ABOVE the plant canopy, the CO2 is heavier than plain ol air, so it will drop into canopy. Buds are fat, resinous, and beautiful. I am a medical grower, and completely legal. I respect the law.
