I have always fought high temps. I'm not in SoCal but it's 110F outdoors here as well...Fricken heat wave....34 days of over 100+ and no end in sight....only get's down to a low of mid 80's......My yard is suffering because of a watering ban.....Part of my problem is I keep upgrading every time I get a handle on it.....
I've used ice packs before that gets old fast, and tried blankets ....So I use the light colored buckets that helps, and using panda film for the covers helps reflect the light, before the canopy fills and blocks any little crack...I could remove mine now if I felt like it...
My cab temps drop down to 71 at night and I vent the cab with a small PC type fan to get it down to 72 degrees. I can never get that last degree. I have two 8 inch fans in the lower area blowing all around the reservoir's. I think mid 70's is when things will begin to grow in there that you don't want....My water temps don't get over 71 so far as I can tell. Without the cool down at night from the heat of the lamp I don't see a solution for you other than throwing down at lot of cash for water coolers and such......Come on winter....
