You need a co2 ppm monitor/controller. You can use the timer method if you like, there is a calculator around online somewhere, im sure as a sticky here as well. But if you've already spent the money on a gen then just pony up and spend the rest on a proper controller/monitor. That's the only real way to know what your ppm is in the room.
