Just got my philips 400w cmh in mail today and put it in my 400w switchable ballast. I was concerned b/c ive heard that the two are incompatible. It is lighting up fine for the 20 minutes or so its been in there. has anyone had experience with cmh and switchable ballasts? will the bulb fail eventually whether it be in a matter of hours or days?
Also on a side note, should i remove the glass from the hood? or is uv output negligible?
