CMH grow test

Nanolux makes a pretty bad ass 1000w DE CMH and it uses their nanolux brand bulbs in 3k or 4k.

I do think with the CMH 3k lamps whats lacking is far red that the HPS bulbs have. The HPS bulbs lack the UV that the CMH has. I think with enough UV from the CMH you don't need to swap out the HPS bulbs to a MH 10k finisher lamp to get the added resin production from the UV.

I think the best setup for a commercial grid lighting layout (high ceilings) would be a mix of DE HPS and DE CMH.

Just thinking out loud.

Nanolux 1000WDECMH need to run to low frequency ballast, right?
I guess everyone is looking for CMH1000WDE high frequency version, that can switching HPS DE and CMH DE in same fixture.

I did not know that with the high frequency ballast one could run both HPS and CMH bulbs. Thats news to me. So youre saying that with my sunsystem DE or phantom DE HPS ballasts I could just put in a CMH bulb?

Yes, one ballast drive both CMH DE and HPS DE, and you just need to switch the bulb. But in order to do that, CMH1000WDE must run with 1000W set, cannnot afford over power use like HPS1000WDE.

Very interesting. So what brand of 1000w CMH 3k bulb should I get to use in the aforementioned ballasts?
