I have reread the thread again and think I understand the cmh bulbs abit better now.
My understanding is that the retro came out first to be used on a hps ballast and they replaced that with the allstart which is to be used on a mh ballast. The allstart is slightly more efficient than the retro and can be used vertical or horizontal where as the retro is either horizontal or vertical specific.
Would it be worth the extra £150 expense getting a mh ballast and an allstart or getting a 315w with the necessary ballast over a retro bulb for my hps ballast.
I can understand the allstart is more efficient than the retro but by how much 5-10%? and does the 315w give more light than the 330w or is it just the 15w saving that makes them better.
Sorry for all the questions but id hate to waste money buying whats not needed or buying the wrong thing.
