This sounds like a fabulous idea.

How hard would something like this be to implement? Is it even within the power of most mods or would it have to go up the chain of command?

Yep, they do a great job with very little reward and often get abused for performing the job they were "hired" to do.

A thankless job to be sure.

its only the 5 of us who can ban members and the head guy of the 4 of us DOES not want us banning members for a day if they did it would be all fucking hell all they need to do is switch their ip and than ill be cleaning up 100's of pissed off new accounts, going around making threads spamming the entire board, this has happened before.

I agree, this is getting soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo old to read.

It seemed like not so long ago politics was not so full of this bs.

It still got heated and I am sure many posts were deleted ( i know a few of mine were) but the threads seemed to stay on topic for the most part and there was certainly less insults and accusations being thrown. (snitchery and such)

It is just a select few who take it to this level and If I were king i'd give these few a "time out" for a while.

not a permaban or anything, just a STFU for a while punishment.

We are one big family and sometimes ppl. just need to be put in their place.

True, we don't know the abilities bestowed upon the moderators. "Politics" is the forum to discus politics, posting it in other forums would be inappropriate, and sure to cause justified complaints. Keeping it confined hereWarning posters their actions will result in all their posts will be deleted, and then doing so, might be effective. Telling me to ignore someone repeatedly accusing me of raping and murdering my children is not going to work. Once again, you are trying to regulate the offended and not the offender. Your actions, as well intended as they may be, are counter-productive.

see this is the funny thing sweetie it takes 2 to tango, and its obviously we speak to ub about his actions as well but are you ub? NO. youre not so im not going to go and tell you to do what i would tell ub to do would i?

but you dont see that side so you think its 1 sided when it really isnt. I am not counterproductive, I take BOTH sides and speak to both if I can, and you are not just the offended dont act like you've got a halo and angel wings either.

and I ment go to another politics forum not spread anymor ehere if you want an intelligent conversation cause theres none ot be had here

and this is where it comes to play
it is in my firm belief that if anyone plays the part of "i refuse to ignore users" than you will suffer the consequences of closed threads, deleted posts, ect and you can't complain 1 bit about it because YOU CHOSE to play that game

(not you specifically just mean anyone in general who says this)

I do understand and probably will have posts deleted at some point again. I try not to be too much of a pita for you guys.

The thing with the ignore feature so I've read is that it doesn't completely block out the "ignored persons" post. So it's kinda like seeing a picture of a beautiful naked woman but having the face blurred out. You just have to see her face.

Best analogy I could come up with.

It would be better if the "ignore" feature would remove all the users posts entirely from our view. It would be more effective this way imo.

I don't know if this would even be possible. As you know I'm not much of a "techie"

The only time you will see their posts is when someone quotes it.

Getting defensive isn't helping. There's plenty of intelligent discussion in the politics forum. There's plenty of crap, too. We all expect it. And you have told me what to do, or more accurately, what not to do. Sorry, but I accept no chastisement for trolling UB. He deserves every bit, and more, that he gets.
