Closet grow/cfl

i have 3 seedlings in individual party cups. im giving them bottled spring water and have 2 13 watt Cfl's and 1 20 watt flourecent I used for my turtle tank. I only plan to grow at least one and at most 2. I have tthem in my closet behind 2 towels and they're in a milk crate lined with tin foil and has ply wood on the bottom. I just planted them yesterday and they have yet to sprout. my sisters boyfriend is going to lend me two of his Cfl's so I should be good for vegging. tell me what you think

it ok to smoke with your plants? I just smoke a joint with my plants. maybe they will get the munchies and eat all the miracle grow.

Yea smoking around them is fine...Just make sure it's ventilated

I've been watering them every time the top soil is dry and have the lights on 20/4

Nice start man, I too just began a CFL grow. I know they havent sprouted yet, but may I suggest you get a few higher watt bulbs (Im using 26 watt and people are suggesting I upgrade to 32 watts), and once they do sprout you'll want to get those lights a little closer to each sprout to avoid stretching.

Do you know the strain btw?

theyre bag seed from what my dealer calls "fruity kush". and yea waiting to get the Cfl's from my sisters boyfriend. she should bring them here sometime today.

UPDATE:

just went diggin in the cups to find the lost seeds. I've been worried as to why they havnt sprouted after 3 days germination and 25 hours of light. so I found them , somehow they got near the bottom of the cop in all the cups! it was weird but anyway, the seedling that's mainly under the big fluorescent had the longest root and the other two had a little bit shorter roots. just sprayed some water to glaze the top and then they're off to sleep untill 9!

I decided I'm gonna try to grow 2 plants . I got rid of one of them(the one growing the slowest) and now I'll have to wait for their leaves to start to show.

looks like a fire hazard.......be careful. put a closet within a closet in there. some thing to isolate your light away from clothes.

what is the minimum amount of wattage I need to grow one plant?

i would say at least 100w. and 100 real watts, not equivalent.

alright thanks i will definantly get more lights and see which one of the seedlings I have now seems to be the strongest .

will 2 13 watt Cfl's and a 20 watt tube fluorescent work to sprout seedlings?

Im getting more Cfl's tommorow. I'm getting around 4 or 5 24 watt Cfl's to add to my 46 watt setup. hope my babies like it!

I have good news and bad news and a concern. let's start with the bad news. so I got a 23 watt cfl and was about to replace one of the 13 watts. when I was unscrewing the 13 watt I got electrocuted and dropped the 13 watt on the 23 watt and broke the 23 watt. so now I need to wait a couple of days before I can get new higher wattage lights. the good news is both seedlings are showing signs of growth! the one seedling just popped out a tiny leaf and the other has a small green stem. my concern is the seedling with the leaf is kind of brownish and I'm not sure what this is. If anyone can help me It would be great. I will post pics soon

some good news: i added two more 13 watt cfls so they should start growing a lot better. comment with any suggestions

so i moved the grow room to a grow box in my dads garage. we put in some light fixtures and plan on getting better lights sometime this weekend. for now there are 3 plants under 3 13 watt cfls.

good looks mannn. im pretty much doin the exact same thing right now, expect im a few days behind you(mine are just sprouting). growing shit is fun and i have smoked plenty of joints while playing music to my plants haha
