closet cfl first grow results

Happy to say plants have been cut dried and smoking is in process... overall i am happy with the fact i got almost a 1/4 lb of weed off 5 cfl grown plants and its not killer weed but it does the job....Now the bad news. I had some buds i was very impressed with while growing as soon as they were cut and dried they shrank up to nothing. Buds are very fluffy...Too Fluffy for my liking and also the lower buds were crap as they also dont seem to get me as high as the upper buds...In conclusion nothing to say bad about cfls but i just purchased a 250 watt hps from HGT....Now im going 4 small to medium plants ,lollypopping the bottoms off and hoping for just large tight buds

I battled with fluffy buds for some time, but do not get them as much any more. What I did that I think helped is to flower under a mixed-spectrum (I use a mix of MH and HPS) but I'm sure you can do the same with 2700k and 6000k bulb mix. My buds all of a sudden became more dense.

Picking the right strain helps too. If you want a strain that will give you big dense buds, give Mataro Blue a go. Click on the Mataro Blue link in my signature for a full grow journal.

it has nothing to do with the type of light its about how much of it and how the plants are topped,LSTed, If you have 100,000 lumens of CFL or HPS or MH its not gonna make any difference.

I respectfully disagree. I didn't talk about how much light, I talked about dual-spectrum. I can only speak from my own experiences.

I wasn't referring to you roach I used both spectrums too that is the best way to mimic the sun and the way to go I was referring to the first comment where he said he only got a 1/4 lb cus they were CFL and thats the reason they weren't dense I was saying CFLs can produce the same size/weight when done right

No, they won't. The intensity just isn't there. Been there done that.

I use HID too but I guarantee that with an X amount of lumens a plant can thrive just as well with CFLs. Its not like HIDs shoot magic pot rays. if im wrong prove it?
