While your intentions are honorable, I dont know if there is a "set way" to grow. There are just too many variables involved plus what kind of experience do you have that would paint you as a grower educated in the art enough to write a book on the subject? How do you know that your "36 pages so far" are accurate? Again, kudos to you on the idea but I believe your dream is just a pipe dream and un-workable at this time for you. You would be better off growing and keeping detailed notes on everything, and I mean EVERYTHING and know what works for you.

If you really want to do something helpful for new grower, compile your facts into any easy to read spread sheet that's only a few pages long. Stick to the basics: temperature range, lumen charts, watt to amp conversion charts (that's a REALLY important chart!!!!), how to calculate cubic feet and pick a strong enough fan (cfm, etc.), calculating watts per square foot, pH ranges for soil and hydro, and the like.

If all this type of info was complied to a couple pages, I'd laminate it and hang it next to me nutrient charts and license.

As was pointed out, the guide has been done... many, many times. But quick, easy access to useful information is always good.

Also, I downloaded that exact guide for my iPad and it's great. Plus having it on iBooks makes it really easy to search a word or phrase. 500+ pages is a lot to read about weed, but I use it all the time like a reference or dare I say, farmer's almanac.

Don't get sensitive about people on RIU acting like dicks. They are dicks. The response you got is pretty par for the course. Just talk shit back and roll with it.

I don't think you have a bad idea. But no matter what you say on RIU, chances are some hater is going to hate.

Remember: on the internet, everyone's a bad ass.
