so i've been thinking about chopping down part of my biggest tree,, she's the biggest of all 3 of my first grow (see my grow journal) but since she's closest to the light i've been raising for her... and feel like my other two are getting lost..

here's my setup:

125watt daylight cfl w/hood.. small osculating fan, and i recently put my starter t5 light on the side to help w/some grown on the sides and try to make the plants more full...

so anyway... the top of my big one is getting kinday straight leaves going upwards or towards the light and not so much fan i guessing because of how close and the angle w/the main light?? i don't want to raise the light too much away because of the smaller plants.. here's what the big one is lookin like
(6 weeks to the day veg)

so my question is...

1) should i chop it to try to cloan?

if so what would i need to do so.. and where should i cut?

2) should i leave it alone? and keep raising the lights

3) maybe get a whole second setup

i dunno i'm just lookin for suggestions... i don't know if she's a male or female

started w/seeds 6 weeks into veg exactly... (42 days since sprouting)

HELP PLEASE

no i haven't done anything...

a little trimming.... but never from the top..

you see how the top seems to be a little heavy??

you think i should leave it?

where's should i chop it???

and do i just stick it in to some rock wool cubes w/ little light on it?

i just read the water and non-see thru cups and little light in a window instructions... should i go for this and cut the top?!?!?!? or leave it... what do ya'll think i don't really wanna cut the top if it would be better not too.. then again i'd like some practice w/cloning as well as see what they do...

OR... i could set up another light space for the big one and put the smaller two plants i've got seperat?!??!

HELP

another question....

if i do clone this plant... what if it's not a female? i see a lot of talk about keeping a mother in the veg stage.. but i thought you don't even see the sex till the flower stage?? so if i start cloning this big plant and it turns out to be male??

With the light you are using I would either top or bend the plant over to get more of it closer to the light.
You have plenty of time to clone.

Excerpt from Joeblo;
"so if i start cloning this big plant and it turns out to be male??"

This is why I clone my plants as soon as they show sex after switching to 12/12.
The cuttings take a little longer to root, and can sometimes take a little longer to start vegging with vigor, however, this way I do not waste time on male clones...

There is tons of info on this site regarding techniques...faqs....

good luck

i think i'm gonna top it and try to clone it just to see what happens.. i mean i should go ahead and give the cloning a try since i'm gonna cut the top right?? but where to cut? i'll give it a try tonight ! hopefully i don't mess it up
