Cloning late in flower

I’ve only tried this once before when I didn’t clone a plant that turned out incredible. I usually just reveg but I’m trying this one more time. Took cuts of some lower branches with buds about a month into flower. My problem the first time was when I put the humidity dome on the tray all I got was moldy buds and no roots. Any advice from people that have done this? Seems like the dome is the problem with the high humidity and mold but clones need high humidity

You should not " need" a dome after 3 days. The dome does not need to be sealed airtight also. Some evapo/transpiration is needed. The cut should be sealed and frequent misting may not be needed after 3 days. Should be good to go without dome by day 5.

The dome is the problem high humidity isn't your friend when rooting buds or re vegging buds on the plant 55/60% is fine.

The lowest airy buds are preferable.

Took this cutting in around week 7 of flower. Took about 8 weeks to get to this point from cutting. I use completely sealed humidity domes until the cuttings root regardless of if its a monster crop or normal cutting. You just wanna pull the lid off once a day or so and let them breathe, then give a light mist.
