Cloning in rockwool.... Am I doing it right??

I setting it up in a DWC.

Do i want the cut part to be in the water? or just slightly above it? or inside the rockwool???

anything anyone??? i'd like to set this up asap.

does no one know?

you need a humidity dome, or a mister to harbor clones,you could try it in a dwc, but i've never seen it done, try putting the cut part in the rockwool, and keep the rockwool moist, not saturated...

You can leave the cubes in standing water while they clone but you must use a airstone/pump to oxygenate the solution and you must change this out every couple days. Otherwise do as recommended above and just keep moist... I like cloning in Root Riot or Rapid Rooters way more tho, 2 each his own.

dwc cloning is faster and easier then cloning into rockwool. take your cutting, prepare the stem, dip it in gel or powder, submerge then cutting into a light tight container with water and air stones running 24h. look it up in DIY if you want some ideas.

I use 2" neoprene inserts in my bucket lid.

I cut out 2" holes in the lid and place the insert in each hole.

Then, I insert the clone into one of the neoprene disks until the stem is about 2-3" through the lid.

Then I fill my 3 1/2 gallon bucket with water and add 3 drops of superthrive along with a dash of rooting compound that I throw directly into the water.

Keep the tip of the clone about a 1/8" above the water, so that the bubbles pop on the end of the stem.

In other words, do not completely submerge the tip of the clone in the water.. you can, but it will take longer to root.

Start up the air pump, put the plant under flo's, and within 7 days, I get lots of healthy white roots

why the rush? You seem to need more education about this and to save time and effort and most of all $$$$, do a little studying on cloning before trying to go into doing it not really knowing the whole set up. Take your time and patience, it will turn out better in the end.

Since your just learning get yourself a humidity dome for $5-$10. You dont need to spend hundreds dollars on cloning. Its simple

1 humidity dome, rooting gel, spray bottle with plain tap water and rockwool for a total of $25-$30
