so ya ive had one harvest so far...but i never cloned anything. crazy, i know. lol. but i need to know what kinda lites can be used, the least amount lumens/watts for cloning and temps. right now im just using two flouros. ones for plant and aquariums the other is a natural sunlite bulb. i have one clone in there rite now, i dipped it in water, then some rooting hormone stuff i got from wally world and put it in a rapid rooter plug. ill probably go get some different rooting gel ( Olivia's) cuz i hear it works good.

I use cfls and get a heat pad. The heat helps get them rooted quick. 4-7 days some times. I use cheap powder I got from lowes. They are all the same hormone from what I can tell. I run them 18/6 and temps around 80.

Good luck,. Cloning is so easy.

wait...nvm lol i forgot i was doing 12/12 with this one so i can findout sex, put it into flowering. but is 18/6 better for rooting the clones?

I would run them 18/6 till they rooted.
To much light at young stage to bad for it until it gets roots? I was reading at rollitup a EASY "cloning tutorial", you should google "Rollitup easy cloning tutorial". I thought it was impressive.

ok, so do 18/6 til they root THEN switch to 12/12 to find the sex of the clone?....why wouldnt it root under 12/12?

They will root under 12/12, but they seem to root quicker with longer light periods...at least for me. As for sexing, that is already done if you have sexed the donor plant. The clones will be a carbon copy of your starting stock. That is why cloning is so desirable.

Cloning is pretty easy. I have rooted cutting in nothing but water, but it takes too long. The hormone gels and powders are very quick. I use T5's and have had great success with them. They generate a good amount of light, but the heat is low so the fragile cutting do not burn.

a clone is the same genetic replica as what it was cloned off of...so i suggest cloning after the plant shows sex and if its a female you can root and then go directly to flowering...dont use high intensity lights to clone

thx dgk, seems like these guys didnt read the post, or maybe i forgot to say that the plants im cloning from are not feminized seeds, they are bagseeds, so there is really no telling on what they are, and i really dont feel like going thru all the trouble of putting my plants into 12/12 until i find sex, then rid myself of the rest, and go from there, im cloning to find sex, not to clone. but thank you for the input

There is no set rules on cloning. I don't need to google anything. I already know how to clone.

I clone in soil. Cut , dip, and into soil. I use no dome. I get roots in 4-7 days and new growth by 10 days. 100 percent success. I even have a clone from a bud I cut right before I harvested the mother. It took 20 days to root and it about to go into flower in a week or so.

Life finds a way. Just give them the right environment and they will root.

These are all clones of different age. I take 1 or 2 cuttings a mom before the mom is put into flower. Casie I get 100 percent rooting I don't have to take tons of cuttings.

HELL YA! thats what im talkin about, life will find a way as it was put in Jurassic Park. What kinda rooting stuff do u use? i just recently got some clonex from my hydro shop the other day, took a cutting and im just waiting to see what the deal is on it, switched the lites to 18/6 too, heard it was better to get roots that way

I have found most rooting hormones to work pretty good and rapid rooters are excellent, But I think my best sucess rate has came with plain water in a homemade aero cloner. Cheapest, easiest, and quickest method for me.
