You could use whatever... if it says its root growth hormone then it will work, Ive only tried powder with 100%success rate to date

in my experience the gels work alot better than the powder.

i recommend olivias, rootone, and clonex. the olivias have added nutes for robust rooting

yo man-Im not using any rooting gels or hormones-because you dont have to(and i live in a really shitty place, wheres there are no hydroshops and you cant find any growlights like lets say a 600 w hps).so my method is easy-take a cutting, pu it in a dark glass, filled with water.put on a plastic bag, make a small hole, put your cutting through it and voila-its ready.after 3-4 weeks, roots will appear.

keep up the good work...

oh-and i use a homemade humidity dome too.if i have a single plant then i take a 2L cola bottle and cut of the neck, and voila-you got a humidity dome 4 a single clone... :)

Some strains prefer rooting powder, for example my blueberrys take 2 weeks to root with clonex gel but other growers have told me it takes 5 days with their blueberrys dipped in powder. Im going to do a side by side comparison to see if its true but first can you fellas recommend any rooting hormones in powder form? (should be availabe in U.K.).

i use rooting gel and i have an ezcloner... it just depends... if im only taking a few cuttings i will use the gel and throw them into rooting cubes (using root riot cubes now, also have rockwool.. just comparing the difference).... if i do more than a couple i will use the ezcloner.. i still dip the cuttings into the gel just because, but the ezcloner also use clonex liquid in it... i probably dont need to use the gel if when using the cloner, but oh well.. a little extra hormones wont hurt.. usually take about a week to get a good set of roots on them either way... sometimes less.. sometimes more.. depending on strain... the nice thing about the ezcloner is i dont feel rushed to get them out of it... since there is more vertical space for the roots to grow i can leave them in there until im ready... for the most part... where as with rooting cubes, once the cube walls have been penetrated with roots you are sort of on a time frame because you need to get them planted as soon as possible... i still scrap the sides of the clones and split up the middle of the clone, at the bottom, about an inch....

If you use neoprene pads would it still be necessary to dip the clones in clonex, would the mist wash the gel away?

yea eventually the spray washes off the gel in the ezcloner.... but thats just that much more rooting hormones in the mix... in the end its probably over kill.. but it works for me... just the way ive done it from the beginning.. so.. why fix what isnt broke??
