Cloning Advice Requested

Hi, I’m new to this community but not completely new to growing. This year however I’m finally going to give cloning a try but I’m such a visual learner and I don’t want to mess this up.

I have two pics, one of each plant I have, and I was wondering if anyone could guide me on if there ready for cutting to clone, or even where to cut? Anything is greatly appreciated!

You're basically removing one of the side branches. I perfer to take cuts toward the top of the plant where the growth is fresher, softer, more pliable etc. But you can take cuts from the spindly lower branches too. Doesn't really matter. I do the diagonal cut thing too.

Take at least 2 cuts from each plant (I always try to take at least 2 cuts from anything, just in case).

I'm new to cloning too. Just started less than two weeks ago. If you're a visual learner, check out YouTube in addition to advice from this forum. There are some really helpful cloning vids for newbies. Best of luck!!

Every node with an attached fan leaf has the potential of being a new plant.

3 finger of stem and a thumb of the fan.
Scrape bottom 1/2 inch of stem in a spot with blade to expose the white, dip in cloning gel, insert and pack stem with scraps of rockwool.

Grodan 1.5 inch starter cubes, cloneX gel.
10 to 20 days for a well rooted clone.

You are a life saver! This is the exact type of directions I was looking for , thank you. I’ll happily post an update as I hope to do everything tomorrow.

I would go ahead and take a small cutting or two from each plant asap (especially to help determine the sex), assuming they are regular photo period genetics. If growing them outdoors.. as it appears to be.. they're probably gonna start flowering right away if not already. Take that into consideration. The longer you wait the farther the clones\branches you intend to cut will transition to the bloom stages. Not always a bad thing to clone flowering plants though, as there are some benefits such as "monstercropping" for example. You might have to re veg them for an extended period of time before they grow normally again, especially if you wait too long.. I'm again assuming that you will be bringing them indoors (and that they are even females), because I'm pretty sure its far late in the game to be putting any clones outside weeks from now anyway, whether you know what they are or not..

I say do it now, and spray/dunk them good before bringing inside, so nothing hitches a ride along the way.

It easy. Each of these cloners cost about $125 and I buy everything at Home Depot or Amazon. The hardest part is drilling all the holes in the tote lid. But you can buy the hole saw for a few bucks at Harbor Freight. Best of luck they work really well..

I Buy a $20 pond pump and $30 premade sprayer manifold on Amazon. These large 55gl totes hold about 15gl of cloning solution and they keep the pump from overheating the solution. Smaller reservoirs tend to overheat the water.

Do you transfer those to soil?
I tried that once, and the hydro rooted clone was much slower to recover in dirt than its soil started sister
