Cloning & 1000w HPS ...

I understand a 1000w HPS is over kill to grow clones, buts say one had an extra 1000w HPS light that was not being used, so instead of laying out more cash for 10 T5's, even though the 1000w HPS would be overkill, would it still work?

What height do you guys feel the HPS should be above the humidity dome while growing clones in a tray of Rapid Rooters and a 7" humidity dome on top.

The 1000 HPS will provide light to 20 trays of 50 clones.

i personaly use a 400wtt mh bulb in my 1000 wt hps ballast for my clones and veg room

Will a 400 watt bulb work in a Next Generation 1000w digital ballast?

How far away from the top of the 7" humidity dome would you place the 400w bulb.

1000 clones? Seriously? You might want to get your feet wet before you attempt that. I think 1000w would be too much for them, they are pretty sensitive to light.
