clones

I just got some clones from a friend of mine. They are about one week old. His lighting system ran 24/7. My system runs 18/6. I still have them in rockwool cubes. They are about 32 inches away from a 400 watt halide bulb. They are starting to turn yellow. The ph is 7. Any ideas what it could be.

yeah they're def gettin ready for some roots to form. feeding of the energy stored in the leaves. as long as they don't all turn yellow you should be perfectly fine. my clones took forever to root until i put heat underneath them, then the roots just took off. i used a heating blanket, but just a little warmth on the bottom really promotes the root growth

i'd say do both about 10 days after transplant, and transplant when the roots are burstin outa ur rockwool

You may find they have way too much light if they are a week from being cut from donor plant, they only want very diffused blue spectrum light until they take root as they do very little photosynthesising until then. Keep them misted twice a day and covered in a dome and do not introduce any nutrients until they root or they will not root as well........they may do it in the end for you as they are quite hardy plants (weeds after all), but follow my advice and it will help.

PS. You want your PH closer to 6 than 7!! and yeh, add a thermostatically controlled heat mat or better still propagator. Dont use normal uncontrollable heat mat as they can fry your new roots !!
