Clones growing more than rooting?

I'm still a bit of a noob at cloning. It's only my 4th round of clones. My success rate is okay... about 90%... but it seems to be taking me longer each time.

Anyway, this time I'm seeing excellent growth in the clones, but no roots yet. The 1st pic is the day they were cut. The second is 18 days later, and I have only one little 1/2 inch root that's popped out on one clone. Look healthy though....

Is this kind of growth normal during cloning?

18 days in an aerocloner and only 1 has rooted? Something is wrong.

Are there any issues with your water?

I was using humidity domes but just started with a Clone King. The CK has only been at it for a week.

Are you just misting with straight water? Maybe add a tiny bit of growth solution to the water. I think clone king instructions said straight water for first week and you can add a tiny bit of nutes in week 2 but it is not necessary.

It is a homemade bubble cloner.

But ya... i gathered that im not doing something right... the first time i used it i got roots in 12 days. The next couple times have taken longer...
No..no water probs. I switch it every week to keep it clean.

I dont mist at all. Just a 50/50 mix of tap/RO water at 76f and probably too much light, which i just switched...

Normally without adding any nutrients if you have the lights too close they will grow and wither to death. But yours grew and remained lush green as if they are getting nutrients. So it makes me think there are nutrients contaminating your tap water which isn't all that uncommon. When cloning we use less light to discourage upward growth and even go as far as cutting the larger leaves in half to stop them from growing as well. I recommend 5% tap to your ro water you can add a tiny pinch of epsom salt if you want also. One thing about a bubble cloner is that even a small amount of Nitrogen discourages roots, but I've had success with low amounts of bloom nutrients with lights closer with my bubble cloner. I have an aero cloner and 2 bubble cloners going at the moment. Did I formally recommend less light? 2 or 3 feet away from your fluoros

Sorry I meant is the cloning machine misting the area we are hoping for roots or is it bubbling the water? The Clone King mists. Both styles work.

The key variable to this riddle is it keeps taking longer/???

Not that strange tbh, some of the "blue" strains take up to 3-4 weeks in an aerocloner to even show a root let alone have a mass of them etc

Out of interest what light have you been using for them? and how far away? Also what light have you now swapped to for them?

I had 1 x 4' t5 about 30" above.
Now i have 1 x 2' t5 about 36" above

And i went from 24/0 to 18/6 for lights on.

I did change to 100% RO water and lessened the light. Also added went down to 18/6 on the light
