I'd just stick with 24 hrs of light. As long as they are female clones and you're not cloning to determine sex. Just my opinion though. You could switch to 18/6 whenever you like, doesn't really matter.

I have always used 24/7, but have been hearing that plants maybe grow better if you give them a dark period, including root's too.

Anyone else have input?

I do 18 just to save energy I dont think it matters either way after reading all the threads one way and the other they both make valid points. I am doing 18 to save electric but if I WAS doing 24 I would be gaining a day for each 4 due to extra 6 hours.

Great point, thanks!

I may give the 18/6 a try.

I think seedlings grow better with a night cycle. But I get bushier clones with 24 hrs of light and supercropping.

Ive tried a lot of different methods to cloning over the years. I've found what works best for me,. I think that thats what it comes down to, whats best for YOU. But anyways heres my method. Right now Im getting 100% rooting rate w/ Hashplant x Haze, Kushberry x Skunk and Violator Kush.

I run a small bubble cloner. I use 1/2 tsp of cloning solution to 1 gallon H2O. I ran out of cloning solution and used just H2O and still got 100% it just took longer to root.
I take cutting and make a slit up the stem w/ razor blade and put in cloner. The only light source on the cloner is a single 23 watt CFL that runs 24 hours a day. . I also have a heater in the cloner to keep the water warm. Once they root they go under a 150 watt HPS on a 24 hour cycle.
Heres bubble cloner:

Hasplant x Haze after 5 days in the cloner:

I have a DIY bubble cloner too, I must say it does have very good success rate. I do it similar to ink the world above, I use 5cm net pot with clay pebble, my last attempt 8/8 success :D
