Clone help

Hi all,
I'm in my first grow, I bought clones from a medical supplier and they are looking and growing wonderfully. A buddy, also a new grower, dropped a screen on his plants. We tried to "clone" the broken branches. Soaked ends in root starter, put into rock wool, misted cuttings, only down fall I had the under 600w grow lights instead of t5 bulbs.
After roots showed thru bottom of rock wool I planted in happy frog potting soil.. After a week in soil the clones are yellowing. I've lightly watered them and placed them on a pedestal about 20 inches from the grow light.

I'm sure I'm missing something easy. I've looked thru posts for cloning since day one of starting this and I'm at a loss to what I've done wrong (except for lighting).
Thanks rich

I'm new also just brain storming here, have you used any nutrients with the clones. I'm sure if you upload some pics someone will diagnose in a short while bro

Some yellowing at first is normal as the plant eats itself while waiting for the root system to develop enough. I haven't used the Happy Frog, but I think it's pre-loaded with beneficials which may need time to grow out the microbes, IDK I use soilless lol. Maybe a little reading up on the soil would give some insight?

I do think 20" is too close to a 600w at that stage, I use mine but keep them on the outskirts just getting peripheral light. Light bleaching is a real thing and can easily cause yellowing. If you can get a few pics up ( use the "Upload File" button next to "Post Reply") I'm sure someone will know. Pretty cool you got them rooted, turn an accident into a blessing maybe ;)

20" is way to close for a fresh clone to a 600w imo. I start my 600 at 36" above well rooted clones.

It sounds like they are hungry, do you have a picture? Clones are mature plants and can handle the same dose of nutes as the mother after well rooted.

I've attached a couple of pictures of the clones. One is more robust than others as you can see.
I haven't added any fertilizer to the little plants. I think I read on a post not to fertilize until after transplanting into bigger containers.

I appreciate the help. This growing process has been facinating. I look forward to hearing from experienced growers.
Cheers, rich

Yea they look hungry to me, I would give them 1/4-1/2 strength feed personally. Some of the newest growth will often be yellow at first, and I think that may be what you are seeing on the bigger ones, but they do look underfed to me as well. Often you get the downward droop if the plant is sad, for me either from overwatering or underfeeding. They do look good though, should be no trouble setting them right.

Clones hardly need much light and what ur giving them is way too much. I guess bc the plants energy goes into root production and the canopy goes into survival mode and photosynthesis is reduced big time. I say this a lot but if u could make a kind of aero cloner you'd fare much better.
