clone help

Hey whats up everyone

Ok long story short im cloning using a dome i have all the proper stuff to do it....heat matt root hormone etc. etc.

My patience got the best of me and being a new grower im all about experiments and learning hands on...

My 8 clones are going to be two weeks old in a day or so...Still didnt see roots in any of my cuttings...They didnt appear

to be dead they looked rather lively but would wilt when i removed them from the dome...So in the name of learning i cut open one of my

rapid rooter plugs to examine what growth had taken place and what i can learn about all this...

For some reason it wont let me upload pic my camera sucks...

Ok so it looks like a buildup on the base of the cutting....When i did the cutting i was told to scape a little bit up and down

to promote more root growth. The spot where i scraped and the bottom of the cutting all formed this mass that looks

Simular to like a pile of salt...Thats a weird description but its hard to explain it looked like a bunch of individual dots that

were stacked on top of one another...Im assuming this is a root structure forming??? The dots being cells??

However the reason i worry is because it was just a mass of growth there were no individual roots poking out of it it was

all one mass...The cuttings all look good btw very alive and good...

I understand that it would have been better to wait and see and not messed with anything but my patience and willpower broke
i had to know what was going on and what it looked like so i know what im doing in the future...

Help a impatient new grower out?:-|

Those are probably the beginnings of roots. They start out as white bumps on the stem. A few more days and you'll see roots through the plug. Be patient.

The mass of white bumps is callus tissue....undifferentiated cells that will differentiate to root tissue. Your stuff is doing fine...as the others have said, be patient

Two weeks is a long time. I cut 2" x 2" x h" cubes from rockwool slab. I use a #2 powdered root stimulator. You can get stimroot #2 from Lowes. I use the spent res water from the budders to do all the green. I make my bin outta a clear plastic garbage bag. I place a single layer of gravel for the clones to sit on. I use two t5 four foot coolwhite tubes 24 hours. The drain/airhole in the bin is about 1.5-2". I put up a shelf to support the bin and mount the light to the ceiling. This way I don't need a heating pad. etc

Do you have any vents in your dome and are you opening them? I've found that if you don't open a vent or two it will slow things down but look great. If you lower the humidity some(not a lot,) after a few days it seems like it promotes root growth. Good luck!
