Arent there clone only varieties that have been going around for years and still exceptional quality? Infact I know there are because jason king has featured several clone only strains in his cannabibles and compiled a clone only list in the 3rd vol. He mentions that a clone only bigbud cutting went for 10k.

10k holy mothersdahfjklashglksgjlka wtf wow thats some serious shit lol

I don't mean to weigh in on the clone of a clone of a clone degeneration debate, but isn't it possible that the clones are from people keeping specific mothers alive long enough to degenerate? Cannabis doesn't live forever; if you clone a 10 year old plant you might inherit the frailty of old age.

Hello there from Northern Calif up in Mendocino County. We have nothing but a flooded market with the very best strains/clones from "OLD SCHOOL" growers. Oh bummer hehehehe. You need to trek up at least to S.Fran /Oakland Oaksterdam area and get your fill.....and end up with a couple nice mama's to continue on filling your needs. The best place (compassionate care) is hidden up in Upper Lake , Calif though....off of Hwy 20.... M.J.s awesome selection and they are really out for the "Patient" and there needs.....all kinds of deals ...peeps have driven from so. cal. to get there clones and buy up all there edibles. Best of luck to you in your quest

I've experienced this too. I had three runs with this "sfv og" and have come to realize it's not og kush. I 1st thought it was my curing but after 3x they all taste the same. They just smell like good sweet herb but it's not kush. Plus yields not that crazy.

I had an idea what if it's just how good you treat the next gem of clones. Let's say the clone the store got was good, but then maybe they get stressed ie. Under water , and now u get a weaker strain of the same plant.

I am way too lazy and stoned to read all these posts, but I will post my experiences.

I have gotten some good and some bad clones from the clubs. Some of the worst weed I ever grew was Purple Kush from one of the clubs. After growing it and seeing how shitty it was, I said fuck it, cloned it, and sold the clones back to the club.

I have also gotten some awesome Purple Urkel, which I still have around, Trainwreck, and G13xHashplant. Now while I have gotten these 3 awesome strains, I have had a few average strains as well.

I will agree that some growers don't put out their prized genetics, but usually they are not putting out the "runt" as it was called. You are probably either getting a renamed cut or some one bred the strain themself and it wasn't very good. Like if some one is selling blue berry crossed with say white widow. They don't do major seed runs like seed banks do in order to pick mothers and fathers, so the offspring may not be as potent. They grow out these unstable seeds, and while they are what they say they are, they are just not bred correctly.

I just noticed the mention of cloning from a clone degrading genetics. I have had that Purple Urkel clone I mentioned for alomst 4yrs. About every 6 months I change my mother. To do this, I take a clone from a clone. So 4yrs of cloning a clone every 6 months is about 8 generations. My last batch was the best I have ever grown. So either the genetics are not degrading or I just like smoking shitty weed.

genetic drift is real but it takes a long long long time (years and maybe even decades) to start showing issues.
not to worries about it when i change my moms out...

ok so i have to chime in on this one ever though its a bit of an older post. Ive purchased atleast 25 clones from a spot at 705 broadway in oakland and all but 4-5 turned out to be great. Infact I picked up 15 sagensour and it turned out with lil over two pounds with 14 indoor. The burn was the best my friends and I have ever smoked. Maybe it was close to the mother? I have a feeling that the older the mother or the older the genetics the harder it is for the plant to remember what it is supposed to do. GO BUY SAGE N SOUR IT IS THE BEST EVER.

I have a clone from a Redding,CA co op and it was supposed to be blueberry, looks good but not the blue. People need to get their shit straight and provide what they advetise, at least here in far nor cal. Nobody wants to let a prize pheno go to the public because of greed.

Greenhouse Big Bang!
