clipping small buds?

Hello all, me and a friend were debating whether or not clipping those really tiny buds/shoots at the bottom of the plant will help a plant or not.

he argues that when you clip these smaller ones, the plant will divert energy to the larger upper colas instead of the bottom ones.

I argues that when you clip these smaller ones, the plant ends up diverting energy to heal and regenerate the bottom buds, slowing things down even more so then if you just let them grow to be small..

any take?

I quess its a personal choice I wouldn't cut of just the bud but the whole branch and it would be for a reason of getting more airflow to the bottom of the plant. In flowering stage I wouldn't at all...although lots of growers take of any little branches and clean the bottom of a plant completly. No worries about energy for the top...as long as you give it nutes it needs your plant will have more than enough energy for all buds large or small...........so I say leave it alone. Unless you just started flowering....naaah even then leave it. Hope that helps best of luck!!!

I do a semi lollypopping. I'll cut the bottom 1/4 off. Then the lower few branches, but leave the fan leaves in place.

I figure the fan leaves make the food, no popcorn buds for energy go to, so its only got one place to go. Just my 2 pence.
